🏳️‍🌈✝️ Rejoice LGBTQI+ for it is through CHRIST JESUS we LIVE and MOVE and HAVE OUR BEING

03/31/2018

__________________________________________________________________________________

HOPE!  THOUGH DIFFICULTIES ABOUND IN THIS WORLD, rejoice that I am ever present with you.  I can enable you to cope with any and all circumstances, strengthening you as you look trustingly to Me.  No matter how hopeless your situation may seem, I assure you that all things are possible with Me.

I am the Truth, and therefore I am true to all My promises.  They provide a rock-solid foundation on which you can live and move and have your being.  Since I am the living Word, affirming your trust in My promises is an excellent way to draw near Me.  As you bask in the beauty of My Presence, you may find yourself wanting to praise Me.  Do not restrain that holy impulse; instead, give it voice.  While you are worshiping Me, new hope will grow within you.

Hope in Me, for you will again praise Me for the help of My Presence.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."  Psalm 46:1

"Why are you in despair, O my soul?  And why have you become disturbed within me?  Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence."  Psalm 42:5 NASB
"In Him we live and move and have our being."  As some of your own poets have said, "We are His offspring."  Acts 17:28

🏳️‍🌈✝️ The Easter Evangelists

Written by Gene Markland

03/30/2018

___________________________________________________________________________________

I was speaking with a lady evangelist who was very sad and disappointed. A new pastor at her home church forbid her or any woman from ministering at their church any longer. She expressed heartbreak as she has been at that church for her entire 60 years, and now she was silenced.  Even though I tried to encourage her, she felt defeated because her freedom to minister her love for Christ to her people was taken away, simply because she was a woman.

Thinking about this, I reflected on the many women in church history who have made its very existence possible. I have marveled, with maybe a little envy, at the pure love for Jesus that women of God seem to have. They appear to be more dedicated, holy, and true to the Lord Jesus than us guys. I have known many such women, like my grandmother Lillie, my mother Mary, and my aunt Carol Rose. The woman whose life I have observed the closest is my own wife Martha, who has served the Lord with love and devotion without fail for nearly four decades, and has taught our daughter that same unflinching devotion.

When I was 12-years-old, Mary Ruth Eller led me in the sinner's prayer in Vacation Bible School, and her daughter Regina serves as a missionary in Israel today. My Sunday school teacher Gloria Dudley continues her faithful service of teaching and ministering to the church for more than 40 years. Today there are women with national and international ministries such as Marilyn Hickey and Beth Moore. What would the church be without these treasures?
We learn from scripture of the women who followed the Lord Jesus and helped Him in His earthly ministry, just as these women do today. Women have a special place in the Lord’s heart because of the pure love and devotion they have for Him.

As we remember that first Easter, we find the Lord’s disciples, the guys, in hiding, cowering and grieving behind locked doors, gripped with fear and unbelief. But the women go to the tomb with boldness to serve the Lord, even in His death. The angel of the Lord revealed to them that Jesus had risen and showed them the empty tomb. As they hurried to tell the disciples, Jesus Himself appeared to them and these women were the first to worship the risen Lord.

Jesus showed tenderness as He told them, through their praises, to go and tell His brothers, the disciples, to meet Him in Galilee. These precious women of God, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, Salome, Joanna, and others were given the first commission to share the gospel!

Scripture tells us,
“So they rushed back from the tomb to tell his eleven disciples—and everyone else—what had happened” (Luke 24:9 NLT).
Jesus used devoted women of God to be the first Easter Evangelists and spread the Gospel. He is risen!

🏳️‍🌈✝️ CONDEMNATION! WHENEVER YOUR HEART CONDEMNS YOU, call out to Me: "Jesus, help me!"

03/20/2018

___________________________________________________________________________________

CONDEMNATION!  WHENEVER YOUR HEART CONDEMNS YOU, call out to Me:  "Jesus, help me!"  Your heart and mind are battlefields:  targets for the evil one's flaming arrows of accusation.  In order to extinguish those fiery missiles, you must use your shield of faith skillfully.  When you cry out to Me for help, you demonstrate genuine faith and I join you in the battle.  I remind you that I have already paid the full penalty for all your sins.

It is crucial to understand that your conscience is imperfect.  Some of its accusations are based on lies.  You need to listen less to it and more to Me through My Spirit and My Word.  You will continue to sin till you leave this world, but I have provided an effective way of dealing with sin - godly sorrow.  This grown-promoting sorrow is motivated by love and concern for all those whom you have hurt (including Me).  It is a work of the Holy Spirit, and it brings real repentance that leaves no regret.

When your heart condemns you, remember that I am greater than your heart and I know all things.  Come confidently and gratefully into My loving Presence.

"For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things."  1 John 3:20 NKJV

"In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."  Ephesians 6:16

"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death."  2 Corinthians 7:10

🏳️‍🌈✝️DEPENDING ON HIM! I AM CONSTANTLY CONSCIOUS OF YOUR thoughts

03/28/2018

_________________________________________________________________________________

DEPENDING ON HIM!  I AM CONSTANTLY CONSCIOUS OF YOUR thoughts.   Sometimes your mind creates so many plans that they get tangled up in each other.  The longer you indulge in obsessive planning, the farther you roam from awareness of My Presence.  Although you may think you are planning your way, I am actually the One who directs your steps.  However, you can choose the hard way (ignoring Me) or the right way (seeking My will).

Be thankful for the mental confusion that occurs when you're overly focused on your myriad plans.  It can help to simply stop and laugh at yourself at such times.  The most important response, though, is to turn back to Me quickly - saving precious time and energy.

As you entrust your concerns to Me, I receive them into My care and keeping.  This lightens your load and helps you gain traction so that you can move forward in dependence on Me.  I don't guarantee you a trouble-free journey, but I do promise to make your life meaningful.  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.  Treasure My teaching in your heart, for it is not your plans but My counsel that will stand.

"I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps."  Jeremiah 10:23
"There are many plans in a man's heart, nevertheless the LORD's counsel - that will stand."  Proverbs 19:21 NKJV

🏳️‍🌈✝️ JOY! WHAT I SEARCH FOR IN MY CHILDREN

03/28/2018

___________________________________________________________________________________

JOY!  WHAT I SEARCH FOR IN MY CHILDREN is an awakened soul that thrills to the Joy of My Presence!  However, you are often subject to a slumbering soul:  taking for granted your life with all it's blessings, being overly focused on negative things, buying into the world's version of the good life.  I want to help you break free from these worldly weights so your soul can soar in the heights with Me.

Yearning for an awakened soul is half the battle.  Many of My children view devotion to Me as a duty, and they look elsewhere for their pleasures.  They fail to understand that the Joy of My Presence outshines even the most delightful earthly joy.

Of course, it is not an either/or situation.  You don't have to choose between enjoying Me or enjoying the many good gifts I provide.  It is simply a matter of priorities:  I want you to treasure Me above all else.

That is how I created you:  to glorify and enjoy Me forever.  I provide the Joy; your part is to glorify Me by living close to Me.  The more fully you enjoy Me, the more capacity you have to appreciate the blessings I shower upon you.  As you delight in Me, I am free to bless you with many things that please you.  If you keep Me first in your life, My good gifts will not become idols.  Delight yourself in Me, and I will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.

"For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him."  2 Chronicles 16:9
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."  James 1:17

🏳️‍🌈✝️ COME TO ME WITH YOUR ACHING EMPTINESS

03/27/2018

__________________________________________________________________________________

EMPTINESS!  COME TO ME WITH YOUR ACHING EMPTINESS.  Take time with Me so I can fill you with Joy in My Presence.  I crafted you as a dependent being, needing many resources outside yourself - air, food, water, shelter, clothing, and so on.  Mankind has long recognized these basic needs.  However, even when such needs are fully met, there is something vital missing:  a living relationship with Me.  I am the only One who can satisfy your soul-hunger.  Open your heart and soul to Me, and let the joyous abundance of My Presence flow into you.

Since I am the same yesterday and today and forever, there could never be a time when you might find Me lacking.  It is crucial not only to know this truth but also to believe it wholeheartedly.  Whenever you are feeling empty, come boldly to My throne of grace.  Pour out your heart to Me and allow Me to help you.

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."  Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

"You have made known to me the paths of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand."  Psalm 16:11

🏳️‍🌈✝️ MY LOVE FOR YOU IS UNQUENCHABLE

03/27/2018

_________________________________________________________________________________

HIS LOVE!  MY LOVE FOR YOU IS UNQUENCHABLE.  It is even stronger than the bond between a mother and her baby.  Though she may forget the baby at her breast, I will not forget you!  You are so precious to Me that I have engraved you on the palms of both My hands.  So, forgetting you is out of the question.  Not only do I remember you constantly, I also have compassion on you continually.

I want you to really come to know - practically, through experience - My Love, which far surpasses mere knowledge.  The Holy Spirit, who lives in your innermost being, will help in this amorous quest.  Ask Him to fill you up completely with My fullness so that you may have the richest measure of divine Presence:  becoming a body wholly filled and flooded with Me!  Thus you can experience My Love in full measure.

"I will betroth you to Me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion."  Hosea 2:19

"That you may really come to know practically, through experience for yourselves the love of Christ, which surpasses mere knowledge without experience; that you may be filled through all your being unto all the fullness of God may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself!"  Ephesians 3:19 AMP

🏳️‍🌈✝️ The Death of Unbelief

Written by Ken Barnes

03/26/2018

__________________________________________________________________________________

“So give me the hill country that the Lord promised me. You will remember that as scouts we found the descendants of Anak living there in great, walled towns. But if the Lord is with me, I will drive them out of the land, just as the Lord said.” (Joshua 14:12 NLT)

Caleb was 85 years old and still had not received his promised inheritance. He asked for the land of the descendants of Anak, the giants, who had put fear and unbelief in the hearts of all Israel, save Joshua and himself. The fulfillment of the promise of God would not be complete if he did not conquer this part of the land and unbelief would remain in Israel.

The hill country, more than any other area, was the place that caused the ten spies to give their bad report. All the spies except Joshua and Caleb said, “We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next, to them, we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!” (Numbers 13:33 NLT) Unbelief had made them small in their own eyes. This negative mental state was disastrous — all the Israelites died in the wilderness except for the two who gave a good report. Remember they were spies; they probably did not know what the giants were thinking.

You may not be what you think you are, but what you think, you are. What you believe others think about you is dependent on how you feel about yourself. But the strange thing is that neither one of them may be true. Only what God says about us is true. Caleb believed he would drive out the giants, “just as the Lord said.” (v.12)

Joshua had already captured the city of Hebron (Joshua 10:36-37 NLT) except the mountainous area within it. It was considered unconquerable, too fortified for any man to take, but not so for God. Caleb could have taken the lowland and lived securely off of the fruits of someone else’s conquests, but he said, “Give me the hill country” (v. 12). If Caleb could not take what God wanted to give him, he would take nothing at all. Why? It was all about the integrity of the promises of God. Caleb knew that what God had promised, he would do. If God had said it was his, then that settled it, whether he was 40 or 85-years-old.

Has God promised you your hill country? Are you getting older or is there an immovable object in your way? Over and over God told his people that he was giving them the land, now go in and fight for it. We like to think about receiving the land, but not so much about having to fight for it. In taking your inheritance, the battle is between faith and unbelief and the battleground is mainly in your mind. If God has spoken to you, take the inheritance that God is giving you, and put to death unbelief. If the Lord is with you, you cannot fail.

🏳️‍🌈✝️ DESIRING HIM! YOU WILL SEEK ME AND FIND ME when you seek Me with all your heart.

03/26/2018

________________________________________________________________________________

DESIRING HIM!  YOU WILL SEEK ME AND FIND ME when you seek Me with all your heart.  I know the full extent of your weaknesses, and I realize that seeking Me wholeheartedly requires massive, sustained effort.  I understand the brokenness within you and all around you.  You are easily distracted by this disjointed world and by your restless thoughts.  I don't expect perfection in your pursuit of Me; it's not about that at all.  It is the effort itself that pleases Me - seeking Me even though it's so hard.  Moreover, the strenuousness of this pursuit blesses you!

As you strive to find Me in your moments, your focus is on Me.  While you plow your way toward Me through countless distractions, your awareness of Me increases.  Even if you don't feel close to Me, you find yourself communicating with Me. So there is a sense in which your efforts to find Me are self-fulfilling:  I am richly present in your striving.  As a result, you feel more alive - more solid and real - when you are actively pursuing Me.

Your willingness to pour yourself into this quest delights My heart.  This challenging journey is all about perseverance.  As long as you continue seeking Me, you are on the right path.  My Presence continually moves along before you - keeping you from stagnating and showing you the way forward.  In spite of the difficulties of the arduous trail you are following, your success is certain:  I will be found by You!

"And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance..."  Romans 5:3 NKJV
"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness..."  2 Peter 1:5-6

🏳️‍🌈✝️ Points Don’t Count when it comes to getting into Heaven

03/26/2018

________________________________________________________________________________

“Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” 2 Peter 1:2

A man died and went to heaven. Peter met him and said, “You need 100 points to get in. Tell me all the good things you’ve done and I will give you points for them. Once you get to 100 you’re in.”

The man starts rattling off his good deeds. Married to the same woman for 50 years, never cheated, went to church his entire life. Adopted six orphans, started a soup kitchen for disabled homeless vets, and on and on. At the end Peter tells him, “You are at five points. What else you got?”

“FIVE POINTS!?” the man said. “At this rate the only way I get into heaven is by the grace of God.”

“Come on in,” said Peter.

If this were me, I wouldn’t even have wasted Peter’s time because my good deeds pale in comparison. Grace is God’s unconditional love toward a person who does not deserve it. Mercy, not merit. Because I have accepted Christ as my Savior, God sees love for me, not my sin. I know it’s real but I cannot understand this.

Even though I do not understand it, I am overjoyed that this is an actual thing. A real thing, from a real God. Jesus plus nothing else equals everything. Receive His grace and share that grace with others. It won’t make sense at first but the more you participate, the more an understanding will come. But don’t take my word for it, try Him and see for yourself.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your unmerited grace and your mercy. Teach me how to show your people grace and mercy so that they can see you for who you are. Amen.

Go Deeper — Choose one person that is close to you and make it a point to show them grace every day for week, no matter the circumstance, and see how much God works through you.

🏳️‍🌈✝️ Does Your Bible Reflect Your Faith?

Written by Diane Pearson
03/26/2018

__________________________________________________________________________________

"Blessed is the man ... whose delight is in the law of the Lord." Psalms 1:1,2

Pastor Kevin is a friend of mine from the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. He sends me his mid-week messages by e-mail. This week he wrote:

“On Saturday a dear member of our church died, Pat Miller. She was 84 years old and has been a very faithful, quiet, humble servant of our church. I have been preparing her funeral service and am reading through her Bible. She kept a wealth of information in her Bible. It’s full of handwritten prayers, poems, and a list of monthly scripture readings that she read and checked off each morning.”

Pastor Kevin quoted one of Pat’s handwritten prayers that he found in her Bible: “The purpose of the church is simple:  to worship the One True God as revealed in the Bible, to lift up His Son Jesus, and to show the love of God to those who come to worship with us. I pray for the churches that they may increase in membership and that the members may be an instrument of your love. Amen.”

Without a doubt, Pat’s Bible is a reflection of her spiritual life:  a well-used Bible, full of personal notes of reflection, a record of her daily reading of God’s Word, and prayers for her church and others.

Pastor Kevin’s story reminded me of a woman I sat next to occasionally in church nearly 40 years ago, at a time when I was not serious about my faith. Her name was Louise. She always carried her Bible with her to church. (I never carried a Bible. Sometimes I borrowed one from the pew.) She always turned to the passages when they were read in the service. (I didn’t bother with that.) She knew where all those passages were without looking at the index! (I was impressed.) And she didn’t hesitate to write in her Bible. (I was taught never to write in books, especially the Bible.)

Louise and her Bible—it’s an indelible image in my mind. It was black, leather-bound, larger than most Bibles, King James Version. When Louise put on her reading glasses and leafed through the pages to find a Scripture, it was obvious she had been there many times before. Her Bible was tattered and dog-eared, with passages underlined or circled, and tiny notes written in the margins in various colors and shades of ink. Bookmarks and little scraps of paper stuck out here and there. In short, her Bible was well used, and I could see the results in her Christian walk.

I’ll be honest with you. I was envious of Louise, her Bible, and her faith. I wanted what she had without spending the time. God uses that image of Louise like a poke in the ribs sometimes. He is saying:  “Spend more time in the Word!”

When it comes time for Louise’s funeral, her pastor could preach a great sermon on her tattered Bible and the notations found within its pages. She lived her life based on the Word of God.

How about you? What does your Bible say about you? When it comes time for your funeral, could your pastor deliver a eulogy based on what is found in your Bible?

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for Christian examples like Pat and Louise, whose lives reflected their Devotion to You and Your Word. Help us remember:  A Bible that is falling apart probably belongs to someone who isn’t. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

🏳️‍🌈✝️ ABIDING IN HIM! I WANT YOU TO LIVE CLOSE TO ME

03/26/2018

__________________________________________________________________________________

ABIDING IN HIM!  I WANT YOU TO LIVE CLOSE TO ME, seeing things from My perspective more and more.  Walk as a child of Light, for My radiance is all around you and also within you; it transforms you inside and out.  Remember that you were once darkness until My Spirit quickened you to Life, empowering you to live in My holy Presence.  Dwell on this blessed remembrance until gratitude for My glorious grace wells up within you.

Trust Me to lead you step by step through each day.  I provide sufficient Light for only one day at a time.  If you try to look into the future, you will find yourself peering into darkness.  My Face shines upon you only in the present!  This is where you find My gracious Love that never fails you.  Live ever so near Me - flourishing in My transforming Light.

"For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with Him pleasure and will - to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves."  Ephesians 1:4-6

🏳️‍🌈✝️ GOD is TAKING DOWN the MEGA CHURCH LEADERS who are NOT PLEASING HIM!!!

Growing up in an Evangelical Church I knew of many incidence like this that the church silences and covers up. As much as the MEGA CHURCH EVANGELICALS preach against others they deem UNWORTHY to be saved {LGBTQI+}, you would think they would have good sense NOT to mess around with the young people in their church. I believe that term is PEDOPHILE. These mega church pastors are QUICK to call the LGBTQI+ Community a bunch of EVIL PEDOPHILES while the can not seem to keep it in their pants whether it is with a GIRL or BOY. If you were to count up all the PEDOPHILES in the PRISON SYSTEM you would see that almost ALL of THEM ARE STRAIGHT WHITE CHRISTIAN MEN!!!

EVANGELICALS need to wake up - GOD IS CLEANING HOUSE and HE IS STARTING WITH ALL YOU "FAMOUS" EVANGELICAL MEGA CHURCH PREACHERS who don't even preach HIS WORD most of the time. GOD IS TIRED of ALL THIS APOSTASY in HIS HOUSE!!!

IT IS TIME for ALL MANKIND whether you are STRAIGHT, LGBTQI+, whatever religion you are, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER and START GIVING GOD the RESPECT HE DEMANDS or GET OUT of the CHURCH and live your lies that are leading the MASSES STRAIGHT to HELL. GOD is TIRED of the SUNDAY and WEDNESDAY CHRISTIANS, HE EXPECTS EVERYDAY of the WEEK CHRISTIANS out doing HIS WILL!!!

The TIME is NOW to REPENT and get your life right with the ALMIGHTY GOD!!!

I pray that GOD will put a burning desire in all who read this to work on cleansing yourself so you can be called A GOOD and FAITHFUL SERVANT of the ALMIGHTY GOD...

Blessings and Peace reign in your hearts,

I was Assaulted - He was Applauded

Jules Woodson reacts to the apology issued by Andy Savage, a pastor at the Highpoint Church in Tennessee, who admits to a "sexual incident" when she was 17 years old.
By JULES WOODSON on Publish Date March 9, 2018.
Jules Woodson says she was 17 when her youth pastor, Andy Savage, sexually assaulted her. In late 2017, almost two decades later, Ms. Woodson, inspired by the #MeToo movement, emailed Mr. Savage asking whether he remembered what has haunted her for decades. When he didn’t reply, she told her story to a blog for victims of church abuse. Days later, Mr. Savage addressed his congregation at the Highpoint Church in Memphis, where he is a pastor, and the church streamed the service online as usual.

At the service, Mr. Savage apologized to the mega-congregation for what he calls a “sexual incident” when he was a 22-year-old youth pastor at his former church in Texas. He received a standing ovation from the congregation. Many online viewers of the video remarked on the applause.

The church pulled the video offline, but not before The Times saved a copy. We then viewed it with Ms. Woodson, whose reactions and commentary we taped for the Op-Ed video above. She recoils at Highpoint’s head pastor’s carefully orchestrated introduction of Mr. Savage and at Mr. Savage’s use of Christian tenets like sin and redemption to characterize his behavior and to try to absolve himself.

Mr. Savage never talks about the details of the event. Instead, Ms. Woodson points out, he refers to it only as a “sexual incident,” without a victim or a perpetrator.

The pastor to whom Ms. Woodson had reported her sexual assault resigned from his ministry in February, seeking her forgiveness for failing to protect her. Texas has a clergy law for sexual assault cases, but in a statement, the local police said that the case is beyond the statute of limitations.

Highpoint Church concluded an investigation of Mr. Savage this week. Its results are not yet public.

Update, March 20: Andy Savage announced his resignation, writing: “I agree with Jules that, of all places, we as the Church should be getting this right.”

Megachurch Pastor Andy Savage Resigns Following Sexual Misconduct Allegations

  Jessilyn Justice

______________________________________________________________________________

Andy Savage resigned from HighPoint Church in Memphis following an investigation into a "sexual incident" that occurred several years ago.

"While the investigation found no other instances of abuse in Andy's ministry, the leadership team at Highpoint Church agrees that Andy's resignation is appropriate, given the reasons stated in his resignation statement. Highpoint leadership has come to recognize that it was defensive rather than empathetic in its initial reaction to Ms. Jules Woodson's communication concerning the abuse she experienced, and humbly commits to develop a deeper understanding of an appropriate, more compassionate response to victims of abuse," the church said in a statement.

The church placed Savage on leave while a third party investigated if any further abuse occurred in Savage's tenure.

The incident reportedly occurred years ago when Savage allegedly forced a woman in his youth group to perform a sexual act for him.

"Throughout the last two and a half months, I've had the opportunity to spend much time in prayer and God's Word, as well as to reflect on the thoughts shared by so many who responded to the post by Jules Woodson and to my statement on January 7th. Your passionate opinions on this important matter have truly helped me to gain perspective that I simply could not have achieved on my own. I have come to understand Jules' vantage point better, and to appreciate the courage it took for her to speak up," Savage said in a statement.
The statement continues:
When Jules cried out for justice, I carelessly turned the topic to my own story of moral change, as if getting my own life in order should help to make up for what she went through and continues to go through. Morality is meant to guard against injustices, not to minimize them, to compensate for them, or to obscure them. I agree with Jules that, of all places, we as the church should be getting this right.
As I've reflected during my leave of absence, I have come to see that many wrongs occurred in 1998. The first was my inappropriate relationship with Jules, which was not only immoral, but meets the definition of abuse of power since I was her youth pastor; therefore, when our relationship became physical, there could be no claim of mutual consent. Another wrong was the failure to follow due process afterward; Jules deserved, and did not get, a full investigation and proper response 20 years ago.

Admittedly, at 22 and in my first job, I truly believed that I was being guided through proper steps for restitution, which included resigning my position and moving from Houston to Memphis. Those steps seemed significant at the time, and I trusted in the process assigned to me. Only through my recent time of reflection have I realized that more should have been done.
Of course, this does little to relieve the suffering Jules experienced because of my mistakes and the neglect of due process that followed. I sincerely want to get this right. I want the church to get this right. I want Jules, finally, to see it gotten right.
That is why, after much prayer and counsel, I now believe it's appropriate for me to resign from my staff position at Highpoint Church and step away from ministry in order to do everything I can to right the wrongs of the past. Apologies are important, but more is required. I know that stepping down once, or even a second time, still doesn't make things right for Jules. But addressing my own acts of abuse this way acknowledges the importance of confronting abuse in our culture and in the church at large. In addition, I will continue striving to grow through this experience going forward as I seek God's will.

To my Highpoint family, I am grateful for all the ways you've loved me, my wife and our boys. I would never have been able to come to this place of understanding and conviction without your love and loyal support throughout this process. I will always treasure the opportunities we've had to serve the Lord together.
Savage's official resignation comes after months of church women coming forward to discuss their own abused pasts as part of the #MeToo and #ChurchToo movements.

🏳️‍🌈✝️ TRIALS! CONSIDER IT ALL JOY WHEN YOU encounter various trials.

03/21/2018

__________________________________________________________________________________

TRIALS!  CONSIDER IT ALL JOY WHEN YOU encounter various trials.  You can consider something a joyful opportunity even when you are feeling quite joyless.  Some definitions of "consider" are:  "to think about seriously; to regard as; to believe after deliberation."  You may need to ponder your circumstances at length before you can view them in a positive light.

You need to give yourself time for your feelings to settle down.  It's hard to think clearly with high levels of emotions surging through your brain.  Once you have calmed down, you will be able to think seriously about your situation.  Invite Me into this process of deliberation, and My Presence will improve your perspective:  helping you see your trials in the Light of eternity.

As you look at your circumstances from My perspective, you come to understand that these multiple problems are testing your faith.  This is both an opportunity (to strengthen your faith) and a temptation (to let your feelings "trump" your faith).

One of the hardest things about trials is the uncertainty about how long they will last.  Usually, you can't predict or control the unpleasant circumstances.  You just have to live with them indefinitely.  At times you may feel as if you can endure no more, but you can always reach out to Me for help.  As you cling to Me moment by moment, I enable you to persevere. This produces in you not only endurance but also a harvest of righteousness and peace.

"Consider it all joy ...when you encounter various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."  James 1:2-3

"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.  Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."  Hebrews 12:11

🏳️‍🌈✝️ WORRY! CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY ON ME!

WORRY!  CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY ON ME!  Unless you deal with it properly, anxiety can be toxic - both to you and to others.  Simply releasing it is not sufficient.  You need to project it vigorously away from yourself, toward Me.  Consider the following illustration:  If you accidentally pulled the pin out of a hand grenade, you would not hold onto the grenade or drop it near your feet.  Nor would you pitch it to another person.  You would throw it as far away as possible from yourself and others.  When you cast your anxiety on Me, I remove it so far away that it cannot harm anyone.  In fact, I delight in doing this very thing, because I care for you so compassionately.

Ever since the Fall, human emotions have been out of kilter.  People often "act out" painful feelings without even realizing what is bothering them.  Or they may bottle up their emotions and pretend everything is all right.  I urge you to be self-controlled and alert so you can identify hurtful feelings and confess them to Me.  Ask the Holy Spirit to help you with this.  As you yield to His work within you, your anxious feelings will subside.  My Spirit can accomplish holy changes in you - producing Love, Joy, Peace ... and self-control.

"You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you.  And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ."  Romans 8:9

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  Against such there is no law."  Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV

🏳️‍🌈✝️ It’s In The Struggle

“Any temptation you face will be nothing new. But God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can handle. But He always provides a way of escape so that you will be able to endure and keep moving forward.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 (VOICE)

The struggle is real. There are times in life when we are faced with circumstances that seem too much for us to bear alone. The problem does not lie in the fact that they are present; it’s all about who we are now. Once we become born again Christians, it should be much easier to fight temptations — at least that is what we have been told.

The truth of the matter is, we all face times wherein we are challenged morally, ethically, or spiritually. We are all faced with multiple opportunities to present Christ or continue living in the same manner we did before we ever knew Him. When faced with temptation, we must begin to think past that moment. The struggle we face is never easy in that moment, but God’s grace is sufficient for us. He always makes a way of escape.

The grace of God helps us to defeat these vicious cycles in our lives. We must first be honest about where we find ourselves, and then rely on the power of God to deliver us. It is in the struggle that we find out who God is to us. It is in the struggle that we are developed. It is in the struggle that we can be set free.

Daddy God, I know I don’t always get it right but my heart longs to please you. I know that I can’t do this on my own and I need your grace to help me conquer these cycles of temptation that plaque me daily. I surrender my life to you again. Allow your power to be known especially in my times of weaknesses. In Jesus' name Amen.
