I normally do not take the time to tear apart another believers devotional but when it comes to the LIES and DECEPTION surrounding TITHES, I have to chime in with the TRUTH. Take the time to read this whole article with includes the original article written by Debbie West from The LIFE.com.
You have ROBBED GOD
“Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings [you have withheld]. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, this whole nation!Bring all the tithes (the tenth) into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you [so great] a blessing until there is no more room to receive it. Then I will rebuke the devourer (insects, plague) for your sake and he will not destroy the fruits of the ground, nor will your vine in the field drop its grapes [before harvest],” says the Lord of hosts.“All nations shall call you happy and blessed, for you shall be a land of delight,” says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:8-12
In
ancient times special storehouses were established in the temple to receive the
tithes of the harvest. If the people were not faithful, the priests could not
continue to serve and perform their duties. These tithes from the harvest not
only supplied for the priests and their families, it was store houses of food
so the community would have food throughout the months when there was not
harvest.
The
reason I am taking the time to point out the TRUTH from this passage of Scripture is because I was disgusted once
again when I read the following article that was obviously written by a Sister
in Christ Jesus who has been sitting under the FALSE TEACHINGS concerning this
particular scripture.
The PROSPERITY GOSPEL
PEDDLERS have blinded the “CHURCH” from the TRUTH
about tithing.
Like the illustration above you can learn that it is NOT about how much money
you can funnel into someone’s ministry so they can live an opulent lifestyle
while most of the people attending their church are barely getting by from
paycheck to paycheck. GOD is NOT going to pour a blessing on you when you chose
to give your money to a man who could careless whether you are able to put food
on your own table, pay your utility bills, hospital bills and even your
transportation costs. Why should they care, you have provided a better than
normal life for them so they have no reason to worry about you and the rest of
the people in the church because they are set for life because of the LIES and
MANIPULATION of SCRIPTURE that continues to funnel extreme wealth into their bank accounts.
Have
you ever stopped to really understand what this scripture is telling the people
to do? Did you really think for minute that {Test me in this,” says the LORD
Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour
out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it} meant
God was going to fill the church with money? Well, that is exactly what the “PROSPERITY” preachers want you to believe. God is
more impressed with the little old woman who put in an offering out of her
poverty than with all those people barely giving out of their wealth for show.
Look at what Jesus said about the widow’s gift in Luke
21:1-4:
Looking
up, He saw the rich people putting their gifts into the treasury. And He saw a poor widow putting in two small copper coins. He said, “Truly I say to
you, this poor widow has put in
[proportionally] more than all of them; for they all put in gifts from their abundance; but she out of
her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

“Bring
the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test
me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the
floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room
enough to store it.”
As a single
public school teacher, I’ve never had a lot left in my bank account at the end
of the month. When there is still more month at the end of my money, I am
learning to rely on God to provide.
Jesus spoke a
lot about money. He often used money to speak about the condition of a person’s
heart. Even the writers of the New Testament recognized this. Timothy wrote, “For
the love of money [that is, the greedy desire for it and the willingness to
gain it unethically] is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it
have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves [through and through]
with many sorrows.” (1
Timothy 6:10).
I think for many
of us, our possessions provide security. Money in the bank gives us a sense of
control. However, one bad day on the Stock Exchange could shake our security.
One diagnosis or one car wreck could wipe out our savings and change things
dramatically.
God is in
control of everything, even the economy. He challenges us to trust his
sovereign hand to be our security. But trust is not just a mental exercise. We
must put our money where our trust is and stand on God’s promise that he will
bless us in return. In Malachi, God asks us to give 10% (a tithe) of our income back to
him. If we do, he promises to bless us so much we won’t have room for it all. {This sentence is a
blatant lie perpetuated by the “PROSPERITY GOSPEL” FALSE MINISTERS, who are
looking to PAD their BANK ACCOUNTS at YOUR EXPENSE!!!}
I was taught to
tithe as a child. As an adult I have continued the practice. When I look back
on my life, I see that God has never failed to provide for my needs, or even
some of my wants.
Lord,
help me to grow in my trust of you. You have asked me to tithe as an expression
of that trust. Help me let go and change my perspective on my needs and my
wants. Above all, show me your blessings as I obey. Amen.
***Read
this prayer over and over again as many times as it takes so you can see how
selfish and self absorbed this person has become because all they really want
from this prayer is for God to bless
them. This my friends is NOT how your pray to GOD and it will NOT motivate God
to work on your behalf. ***
Go Deeper — If you are not in the habit of tithing, consider
starting. Tithe
to your local church or to a ministry in your community. If 10% feels like too
much, start with 5% and see what God does! If you are already tithing
regularly, ask God if you should give beyond that tithe to further the work of
the Kingdom here on Earth. Above all, trust him!

The highlighted sentence in the above paragraph
is also another DECEPTION of the DEVIL
perpetuated by the “PROSPERITY GOSPEL” FALSE TEACHERS to make you feel bad if
you are not giving so they try to make it less painful for you. It is because
of their FALSE TEACHING about TITHING that so many people feel they are living
in bondage because they just have to tithe or they are going to hell. GUESS
what people you can TITHE you time, any part of your resources it DOES NOT have
to be your MONEY!!! God expects you to be a good steward of ALL HE has given
you. If you feel guilty for not tithing 10% or more of your FINANCES to the
CHURCH – STOP IT RIGHT NOW!!! God is more pleased when you give out of a
grateful heart whatever you are able to give.
I could go on
and on about this because it really angers me that these Preachers have
manipulated God’s people for all these years when it comes to their money. The
more you READ the WORD of GOD the MORE TRUTH you will LEARN and you will be
able to pick the FALSE TEACHERS like Ms. West when you come across their FALSE
TEACHING!!!
I will be forever
thankful for the TRUTH from God’s Word that puts a stop to the LIES and
DECEPTION coming from the pulpits of FALSE TEACHERS…
