🏳️‍🌈✝️πŸ”» The “Falling Away” 6 Day Devotional Day 6 – Final thoughts on the “Falling Away”

Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed], who opposes and exalts himself [so proudly and so insolently] above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he [actually enters and] takes his seat in the temple of God, publicly proclaiming that he himself is God.

The last day church Paul spoke of in Revelation 3:14-17 is in danger of being spat out of the Lord’s mouth! In other words, this church is full of unsaved people, posing as devout believers. They have wealth, social power, beautiful buildings and a network of business connections. But they don’t have the Holy Spirit.

In His closing words to this church, Jesus His invites them to join Him, in other words, to repent and be saved: Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me(Revelation 3:20)

The Door Opens

In Revelation 4 we find the metaphor of a door being opened in heaven, and the Apostle John being invited by a heavenly voice to ascend into the heavens, where he receives the amazing apocalyptic Revelation. Many theorists have remarked that this scene is a perfect representation of the rapture.

Here we find Paul’s own description of the events that will surround the rapture of the church. The “falling away,” which Paul describes precisely as the beginning of the Day of the Lord, is identifiable as that time when the majority of the professing church becomes the apostate church.

This could have been true many times during the Dark Ages. But it will ONLY be true in the moment following the departure of the body of Christ – the True Church – from this planet. Much of the organized church will remain here after this event. These churches will be the apostate church that welcomes the social and governmental changes we regard as horrifying.

They will also welcome the Antichrist as the savior of the world, II Thessalonians 2:6-8
The Holy Spirit will accompany the believing church into the heavens. As Christ’s body of believers is caught up, and the restraint of the Holy Spirit is no longer a factor, Paul’s “falling away” will become an actuality. After the believers are caught up, it will be the only time that the “man of sin” can and will be revealed.

The numerous Old Testament prophecies about the Day of the Lord will impact the Earth like a string of dominoes, propelling an unprecedented series of catastrophes that will radically alter life on planet Earth.

The “falling away” hasn’t happened yet. However, it seems we have reached the time when unbelievers in the church outnumber believers. Only God knows the exact number.
Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I was telling you these things? And you know what restrains him now [from being revealed]; it is so that he will be revealed at his own [appointed] time. For the mystery of lawlessness [rebellion against divine authority and the coming reign of lawlessness] is already at work; [but it is restrained] only until he who now restrains it is taken out of the way. Then the lawless one [the Antichrist] will be revealed and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and bring him to an end by the appearance of His coming. The coming of the [Antichrist, the lawless] one is through the activity of Satan, [attended] with great power [all kinds of counterfeit miracles] and [deceptive] signs and false wonders [all of them lies], and by unlimited seduction to evil and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they did not welcome the love of the truth [of the gospel] so as to be saved [they were spiritually blind, and rejected the truth that would have saved them]. Because of this God will send upon them a misleading influence, [an activity of error and deception] so they will believe the lie,in order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe the truth [about their sin, and the need for salvation through Christ], but instead took pleasure in unrighteousness.. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12

Jesus warns us in Matthew 24 that many FALSE TEACHERS will rise up during the last days teaching doctrines of demons and leading many astray. It is up to each people to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help them discern these FALSE TEACHERS.

It is my sincere prayer that through the teaching of TRUTH you will be one of the few who are taken up to meet Jesus before the coming Tribulation.

Blessings and Peace,
