Satan
has blinded this world from seeing the LIGHT of the Gospel. He has sent his own
out into the world posing as Apostles who are not. 2

It
is so important in these days of deception and manipulation by the “RISING
STARS” in the Evangelical Church world that TRUE teachers of the Gospel of
Christ Jesus take a stand proclaiming the TRUTH. It is important as True
Believers you understand the POWER that has been given to those who follow
Christ Jesus. Understanding the teachings of Jesus to His disciples will help
equip you as a follower of Christ Jesus to stand up against the FALSE TEACHERS.
It is very important to keep yourself in tune with the Holy Spirit who will
guide you into the TRUTH and empower you to do the will of God.
Those
who are truly called into the ministry of the Gospel will do great things for
the Kingdom of God. They will NOT be living in Extravagant homes, driving high
dollar automobiles, flying in their own private jets or promoting the gospel of
“YOU” {Your Best Life Now, Think Better Live Better, You Can You Will and the
list goes on}. If you are following a “preacher/teacher” who is promoting
“Self” above living a humble life for God then you are following a FALSE
TEACHER. God DOES NOT CALL men and women to a life of LUXURY. He calls them to
be humble and teach the gospel to ALL of God’s creation. Do you really think
people living in poverty want to hear the gospel from someone living in 15,000
square foot homes who own private jets and multiple houses and cars? NO, of
course they do not and won’t listen to them. Listen to the following WORDS OF
JESUS to those called into the ministry and how they are to present themselves
to the eyes of the world.
Every
“Preacher” who stands before millions of people on the FALSE SABBATH DAY,
SUNDAY, not only dishonor God by NOT keeping His Commandment to keep the
Sabbath Dad {Saturday} Holy, they dishonor God in the clothes they wear, the
cars they drive, the planes they fly or have flown for them and even the homes
they live in. The reason I can say this is because of God’s Word found in Matthew 6.
There are literally 1000’s of these men and women living in the lap of luxury at the expense of God’s people. God will bring these men and women down by exposing their DARKEST SECRETS!!!
Jesus made it a point to teach the disciples NOT to believe everything the Pharisee’s and Sadducee's were teaching because they were too caught up in the “LAWS” to understand the FREEDOM Christ Jesus was bringing into the lives of everyone who chose to follow Him. Jesus also taught the disciples to put ALL their faith and trust in God to take care of ALL their needs. Jesus also released His DIVINE POWER unto those disciples and to ALL who chose to follow HIM. He expects His followers to use the power only to bring more people into the Kingdom of Heaven and NOT use it for PERSONAL GAIN. Satan gives his followers powers also but they are false powers that do not stick. Don’t get caught up in the Spiritual Powers. Use them to do battle against demonic forces and sickness to deliver people who are oppressed so they will believe and turn their lives over to God.
…Jesus to His disciples, “Be continually on your guard against the leaven of the Pharisees [that is, their pervasive, corrupting influence and teaching], which is hypocrisy [producing self-righteousness]. But there is nothing [so carefully] concealed that it will not be revealed, nor so hidden that it will not be made known. For that reason, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops. Luke 12:1-3
Jesus said to His disciples, “For this reason I tell you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; or about your body, as to what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the crop]; they have no storehouse or barn, and yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than the birds! And which of you by worrying can add one hour to his life’s span? So if you are not even able to do a very little thing [such as that], why are you worried about the rest? Consider the lilies and wildflowers, how they grow [in the open field]. They neither labor nor spin [wool to make clothing]; yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these. But if this is how God clothes the grass which is in the field today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You of little faith! So as for you, do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink; nor have an anxious and unsettled mind. For all the [pagan] nations of the world greedily seek these things; and your [heavenly] Father [already] knows that you need them. But [strive for and actively] seek His kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Do not be afraid and anxious, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. “Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide money belts for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing and inexhaustible treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:22-34
And
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed [in Me] and has been baptized will be
saved [from
the penalty of God’s wrath and judgment]; but he who has not believed will be
condemned. These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My
name they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up
serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will
lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.” Mark 16:15-18 {A special note and warning here: Do NOT test God by picking up serpents. GOD is NOT
obligated to protect you for being ignorant. Only people with little faith dare
test God. Matthew
4:7-10, Luke
4:3-14, Proverbs
19:2-3, Deuteronomy
6:16, Isaiah 7:12, Psalm 78:17-25}
We
must not tempt the Lord [that is, test His patience, question His purpose or
exploit His goodness], as some of them did—and they were killed by serpents.
1
Corinthians 10:9 {The
world has seen this happen time again in the last hundred years by those who
have formed a FALSE RELIGION branched off the Pentecostal Holiness movement. Just
this year another pastor was bitten by a rattlesnake. This pastor’s father died
from the same ritual. You can read about it in a recent article from Ministry
Today Magazine, here.}
Let
us now study the Scriptures that teach us what to look for in FALSE PREACHERS,
TEACHERS and PROPHETS {their personality traits and FALSE teachings}.
Now
Jesus called together the twelve [disciples] and gave them [the right to
exercise] power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. Then He
sent them out [on a brief journey] to preach the kingdom of God and to perform
healing. And He said to them, “Take nothing for your
journey [that might encumber you]—neither a walking stick, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and
do not even have two tunics apiece. Whatever house you enter, stay there until
you leave that city [to go to another]. And as for all those who do not welcome you, when you leave that city,
shake the dust off your feet [breaking all ties with them] as a testimony against them [that they rejected My
message].” So they began going from village to village, preaching the
gospel and healing the sick everywhere. Luke 9:1-6
But [in those days] false
prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among
you, who will subtly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master
who bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful
ways, and because of them the way of truth will be maligned. And in their
greed they will exploit you with false arguments and twisted doctrine.
Their sentence [of condemnation which God has decreed] from a time long ago is
not idle [but is still in force], and their destruction and deepening
misery is not asleep [but is on its way]. For if God did not [even] spare
angels that sinned, but threw them into hell and sent them to pits of gloom to
be kept [there] for judgment; and if He did not spare the ancient world, but
protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought
[the judgment of] a flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if He condemned
the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes,
having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives
thereafter; and if He rescued righteous Lot, who was tormented by the immoral
conduct of unprincipled and ungodly men (for that just man, while living among them, felt his righteous
soul tormented day after day by what he saw and heard of their lawless acts), then [in light of the fact that all
this is true, be sure that] the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial,
and how to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and
especially those who indulge in the corrupt passions of the sin nature, and
despise authority. Presumptuous
and reckless, self-willed and arrogant [creatures, despising the
majesty of the Lord], they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties,
whereas even angels who are superior in might and power do not bring a
reviling (defaming) accusation against them before the Lord. But these [false
teachers], like unreasoning animals, [mere] creatures of instinct, born to be
captured and destroyed, reviling things they do not understand, will also
perish in their own corruption [in their destroying they will be destroyed],
suffering wrong [destined for punishment] as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a delight to revel
in the daytime [living luxuriously]. They are stains and blemishes [on
mankind], reveling in their deceptions even as they feast with you. They have
eyes full of adultery, constantly looking for sin, enticing and luring
away unstable souls. Having hearts trained in greed, [they are] children of a
curse. Abandoning the straight road [that is, the right way to live], they have
gone astray; they have followed the way of [the false teacher] Balaam the son
of Beor, who loved the reward of wickedness; but he was rebuked
for his own transgression: a mute donkey spoke with a man’s voice and
restrained the prophet’s madness. These [false teachers] are springs without water and mists driven by a
tempest, for whom is reserved the gloom of black darkness. For uttering arrogant words
of vanity [pompous words disguised to sound scholarly or profound, but meaning
nothing and containing no spiritual truth], they beguile and lure using
lustful desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live
in error. They promise them liberty, when they themselves are the slaves of depravity—for
by whatever anyone is defeated and overcome, to that [person, thing,
philosophy, or concept] he is continually enslaved. For if, after they
have escaped the pollutions of the world by [personal] knowledge of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome,
their last condition has become worse for them than the first. It would have
been better for them not to have [personally] known the way of righteousness,
than to have known it and then to have turned back from the holy commandment
[verbally] handed on to them. The thing spoken of in the true proverb has
happened to them, “The dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “A sow is washed only to wallow [again] in the
mire.” 2 Peter 2
Difficult
Times Will Come
But understand this, that in the last
days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days
that will be hard to bear]. For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic,
self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant,
revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, [and
they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and
inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control
[intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, traitors, reckless, conceited,
lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of
[outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their
conduct nullifies their claim of faith].
Avoid such people and keep far away from them. For among them are those
who worm their way into homes and captivate morally weak and
spiritually-dwarfed women weighed down by [the burden of their] sins, easily
swayed by various impulses, always learning and listening to anybody who
will teach them, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Just as
Jannes and Jambres [the court magicians of Egypt] opposed Moses, so these men
also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, unqualified and worthless
[as teachers] in regard to the faith. But they will not get very far, for their
meaningless nonsense and ignorance will become obvious to everyone, as
was that of Jannes and Jambres. 2
Timothy 3:1-9
I solemnly charge you in the presence of God
and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His
appearing and His kingdom: preach the word [as an official messenger]; be ready
when the time is right and even when it is not [keep your sense of
urgency, whether the opportunity seems favorable or unfavorable, whether
convenient or inconvenient, whether welcome or unwelcome]; correct [those who err in doctrine or behavior], warn [those who
sin], exhort and encourage [those who are growing toward spiritual
maturity], with inexhaustible patience and [faithful] teaching. For the time will come when
people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that
challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears
tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many]
teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to
support the errors they hold, and will turn their ears away from the truth and
will wander off into myths and man-made fictions [and will accept the
unacceptable]. But as for you, be clear-headed in every situation [stay
calm and cool and steady], endure every hardship [without flinching], do the
work of an evangelist, fulfill [the duties of] your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:1-5
Be wary of false preachers who smile
a lot, dripping with practiced sincerity. Chances are they are out to rip you
off some way or other. Don’t be impressed with charisma; look for character.
Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say. A genuine leader
will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with
their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned. Matthew 7:15-20
How
is it that you fail to understand that I was not talking to you about bread?
But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then they understood that He did
not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the [false] teaching of
the Pharisees and Sadducees. Matthew 16:11-12
Give
Away Your Life
But it’s
trouble ahead if you think you have it made. What you have is all you’ll ever get. And it’s trouble ahead if you’re satisfied with yourself. Your self will
not satisfy you for long. And its trouble ahead if you think life’s all fun and
games. There’s suffering to be met, and you’re going to meet it. “There’s
trouble ahead when you live only for the approval of others, saying what
flatters them, doing what indulges them. Popularity contests are not truth
contests—look how many scoundrel preachers were
approved by your ancestors! Your
task is to be true, not popular. To you who are ready for the truth, I
say this: Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst.
When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for
that person. If someone slaps you in the face, stand there and take it. If
someone grabs your shirt, gift-wrap your best coat and make a present of it. If
someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant
life. No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously.” Luke 6:24-30
“For false Christ’s and false prophets will appear and
they will provide great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even
the elect (God’s chosen ones). Listen carefully, I have told you in
advance. So if they say to you, ‘Look! He is in the
wilderness,’ do not go out there, or, ‘Look! He is in the inner rooms [of a house],’ do not believe it. For just as the lightning comes from the
east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming [in glory] of the Son of Man [everyone will see Him
clearly]. Wherever
the corpse is, there the vultures will flock together, moving in, and hovering ready
to pounce on the rotting carcass. You can be quite sure that it’s
not the living Son of Man pulling in those crowds. Matthew 24:24-28
Do Not Be Like The FALSE Teachers
Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, saying:
“The scribes and Pharisees have seated themselves in Moses’ chair [of authority
as teachers of the Law]; so practice and observe everything they tell you, but
do not do as they do; for they preach [things], but do not practice them.
The scribes and Pharisees
tie up heavy loads [that are hard to bear] and place them on men’s shoulders,
but they themselves will not lift a finger [to make them lighter]. They do all
their deeds to be seen by men; for they make their phylacteries (tefillin) wide
[to make them more conspicuous] and make their tassels long. They love the
place of distinction and honor at feasts and the best seats in the
synagogues [those on the platform near the scrolls of the Law, facing the
congregation], and to be greeted [with respect] in the market places and
public forums, and to have people call them Rabbi. But do not be called Rabbi
(Teacher); for One is your Teacher, and you are all [equally] brothers. Do not
call anyone on earth [who guides you spiritually] your father; for One
is your Father, He who is in heaven. Do not let yourselves be called
leaders or teachers; for One is your Leader (Teacher), the Christ.
But the greatest among you will be your servant. Whoever exalts himself shall
be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be raised to honor.
Eight
Woes
- “But woe (judgment is coming) to you, [self-righteous] scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven in front of people; for you do not enter yourselves, nor do you allow those who are [in the process of] entering to do so.
2. [Woe to
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you swallow up widows’ houses,
and to cover it up you make long prayers; therefore you will receive the
greater condemnation.]
3. “Woe to
you, [self-righteous] scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel
over sea and land to make a single proselyte (convert to Judaism), and when he
becomes a convert, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
4. “Woe to
you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears [an oath] by the sanctuary of the
temple, that is nothing (non-binding); but whoever swears [an oath] by the gold
of the temple is obligated [as a debtor to fulfill his vow and keep his promise].’
You fools and blind men! Which is more important, the gold or the sanctuary of
the temple that sanctified the gold? And [you scribes and Pharisees say],
‘Whoever swears [an oath] by the altar, that is nothing (non-binding), but
whoever swears [an oath] by the offering on it, he is obligated [as a debtor to
fulfill his vow and keep his promise].’ You [spiritually] blind men, which is
more important, the offering, or the altar that sanctifies the offering?
Therefore, whoever swears [an oath] by the altar, swears both by it and by
everything [offered] on it. And whoever swears [an oath] by the sanctuary of
the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells within it. And whoever swears
[an oath] by heaven, swears both by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon
it.
5. “Woe to
you, [self-righteous] scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you give a tenth
(tithe) of your mint and dill and cumin [focusing on minor matters], and have
neglected the weightier [more important moral and spiritual] provisions of the Law:
justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the [primary] things you
ought to have done without neglecting the others. You [spiritually] blind
guides, who strain out a gnat [consuming yourselves with miniscule matters] and
swallow a camel [ignoring and violating God’s precepts]!
6. “Woe to
you, [self-righteous] scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the
outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of extortion and
robbery and self-indulgence (unrestrained greed). You [spiritually] blind
Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the plate [examine and
change your inner self to conform to God’s precepts], so that the outside [your
public life and deeds] may be clean also.
7. “Woe to you, [self-righteous] scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which look beautiful on the
outside, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean. So
you, also, outwardly seem to be just and upright to men, but inwardly
you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
8. “Woe to
you, [self-righteous] scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build tombs
for the prophets and decorate and adorn the monuments of the righteous,
and you say, ‘If we had been living in the days of our fathers, we would
not have joined them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ So you
testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered
the prophets. Fill up, then, the [allotted] measure of the guilt of your
fathers’ sins. You serpents, you spawn of vipers, how can you escape the
penalty of hell?
“Therefore, take notice, I am sending you prophets and wise
men [interpreters, teachers] and scribes [men educated in the Mosaic Law and
the writings of the prophets]; some of them you will kill and even
crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues, and pursue and
persecute from city to city, so that on you will come the guilt of all
the blood of the righteous shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to
the blood of Zechariah [the priest], the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered
between the temple and the altar. I assure you and most solemnly say to
you, [the judgment for] all these things [these vile and murderous deeds] will
come on this generation. Matthew
23:1-6
Come Out and Be Separate From The Unbelievers
God gives His followers the strength to RESIST the Devil and his temptations. As followers of Christ Jesus we will OVERCOME by the WORD of our TESTIMONY. Therefore, it is prudent that you PRAY CONTINUALLY and RESIST temptations.
So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. James 4:7
And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death. Revelation 12:11
As you can see those who follow Christ Jesus will have the strength to TEST the spirits and stay STRONG in the Lord. So many FALSE TEACHERS, PREACHERS and PROPHETS have been deployed by Satan that is sometimes hard to know who to believe. Thank God Jesus teaches us in the Word of God how to discern the TRUE from the FALSE. Remember you will ALWAYS know the FALSE by their FALSE TEACHINGS that are CONTRARY to the Word of GOD. Likewise, you will be able to discern the TRUE men and women of GOD by their LOVE and the preaching of the GOOD NEWS of the Gospel followed by TRUE MIRACLES through the HOLY SPIRIT working through them for the GLORY of GOD and NOT mankind. Use the POWER given you through the HOLY SPIRIT and Prayer {Ephesians 6:10-18}.
Be Strong in the Lord and in the POWER of His MIGHT {Ephesians 6:10-18},
