Today I will be
bringing the LIGHT of GOD’S Word to a subject MOST Evangelical Ministers refuse
to touch. If you are offended I ask that you pray about and seek the guidance
of the Holy Spirit. We are fast approaching the end of days and the Saints of
God need to heed the warnings the Jesus Christ lay out for us over 2000 years
ago. The TRUTH never comes easy when you have been lulled to sleep by the great
DECEIVER who has infiltrated the Church throughout the world. Today we will be
exploring the “Whore of Babylon” and Babylon the Great the Prophet John warned
the Church about in the book of Revelation.

The Prophet John
called the Pope's "Church" the "GREAT WHORE," and
"Mother of Harlots and Abominations in the Earth."
Yet the world screams and cheers
for the Pope like they once did for Elvis Presley and the Beatles.
THAT is how doomed
this generation. They
don't know a man of God from the Devil himself. They are biblically illiterate. They get their gospels from
"Christian" movies, but hold their hands to stop their ears when a
real man of God opens his mouth to say "thus saith the LORD."
And God will have no mercy on
them for their willful ignorance.
Revelation contains
a shocking message about Babylon—the other woman. Babylon is fallen, and people
must escape her charms and her beauty! She is seductive and using
her stunning beauty to seduce the children of men. Here you will learn
the stunning real identity of spiritual Babylon and how to avoid being
hypnotized by her fatal beauty. What could be more important? Every
marriage must rely on trust. And in our union with Christ, we must likewise
remain faithful to Him and His Word. The book of Revelation speaks about the true
bride of Christ, but there is another “woman” who is trying to seduce believers
away from God’s Word.
1. How does Jesus describe Babylon in the book of
Revelation?
“I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that
sitteth upon many waters… And I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast,
full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the
woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and
precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of
abominations and filthiness of her fornication.”And upon her forehead [was] a
name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND
ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” (Revelation
17:1, 3-5)
Answer: In
Revelation
17:1–5, Jesus describes Babylon as a harlot dressed in red and purple. She
is seated on a scarlet-colored beast, which has seven heads and ten horns and
sits on many waters.
2. Who is the symbolic pure woman of Revelation chapter 12?
Answer: A
pure woman, clothed with the sun, is depicted in Revelation 12:1–6. This pure woman symbolizes
God’s pure church, (Galatians 4:26, Jeremiah 6:2, Hebrews 12:22, 23) which is faithful to her husband, Jesus.
3. What does a harlot
represent in Bible prophecy?
“Cause Jerusalem to know her abominations. …But thou didst
trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot” (Ezekiel
16:2, 15)
Answer: As
a pure woman symbolizes a pure church that is faithful to Jesus, so an impure
woman represents an impure, or fallen, church that is unfaithful to Jesus (James
4:4).
4. Can we identify the harlot (church) that is called
“Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots” in Revelation chapter 17?
Answer: Yes.
It is widely known that there is only one church that claims to be the mother
church—the Roman Catholic Church. A prominent Catholic priest said, “That
observance [Sunday-keeping] remains as a reminder of the Mother Church from
which the non-Catholic sects broke away.” (John A. O’Brien, The Faith of
Millions (Huntington, IN: Our Sunday Visitor, Inc., 1974), p. 401)
The points used in Revelation
17 to describe mother Babylon and the beast she rides clearly fit the
papacy:
A. She
persecuted the saints (Revelation
17:6).
B. She
was dressed in purple and scarlet (Revelation
17:4). The pope often wears the royal color of purple at important functions, and red is the color of the robes of Catholic
cardinals.
C. The
seven heads of the beast (Revelation
17:3) upon which the woman is seated are seven mountains (Revelation
17:9). It is well-known that Rome, the headquarters of the papacy, is built
upon seven hills, or mountains.
D. The
beast is a symbol of the state power (Revelation
17:3); the reason for the judgment Babylon is fallen is because of her
“fornication with the kings of the earth” (Revelation
17:1, 2)
E. She
ruled “over the kings of the earth” (verse
18). Alexander Flick says that by the 13th century, the pope was “at least
in theory … the ruler of the whole world in temporal and spiritual affairs.” (The
Rise of the Medieval Church (New York: Burt Franklin, 1959), 575.)
This point could fit no other earthly kingdom or government. The papacy is
described in Revelation
17 too clearly for doubt.
Note: Many
leaders of the Reformation (Huss, Wycliffe, Luther, Calvin, Zwingli,
Melanchthon, Cranmer, Tyndale, Latimer, Ridley, and others) taught that the
papacy is the power here involved. (George Eldon Ladd, The
Blessed Hope (Grand Rapids, MI: William B. Eerdman’s Publishing Co.,
1956), pp. 32-34.)
5. What is the literal meaning of the word “Babylon,” and what is its origin?
“Let us build … a tower, whose top [may reach] unto heaven.
… And the LORD said … let us go down, and there confound their language,
that they may not understand one another’s speech. Therefore is the name
of it called Babel, because the LORD did there confound the language” (Genesis
11:4, 6,
7, 9).
Answer: The
words “Babel” and “Babylon” mean “confusion.” The name Babylon originated at
the Tower of Babel, which was erected after the Flood by defiant pagans who
hoped to build it so high that no floodwaters could ever cover it (Gen
11:4). But the Lord confounded their language, and the resultant confusion
was so great they were forced to halt construction. They then called the tower
“Babel” (Babylon), or “confusion.” Later, in Old Testament days, a worldwide
pagan kingdom named Babylon arose; it was an enemy of God’s people, Israel. It
embodied rebellion, disobedience, persecution of God’s people, pride, and
idolatry (Jeremiah
39:6, 7;
50:29,
31–34;
51:24,
34,
47;
Daniel
3 and 5).
In Isaiah
chapter 14, God uses Babylon as a symbol of Satan because Babylon was so
hostile and devastating to God’s work and His people. In the New Testament book
of Revelation, the term “Babylon” is used to signify a religious kingdom that
is an enemy of God’s spiritual Israel—His church (Revelation
14:8; 16:19).

Answer: They
are some of the churches that originally protested the false teachings of
mother Babylon and left her during the great Protestant Reformation. But later
they began to mimic the principles and actions of the mother and thus became fallen
themselves. No woman is born a harlot. Neither were the symbolic Protestant
daughter churches born fallen. Any church or organization that teaches and
follows Babylon’s false doctrines and practices could become a fallen church or
daughter. So Babylon is a family name that embraces both the Mother Church and
those of her daughters who are also fallen.
7. In Revelation
17, why is mother Babylon pictured as riding on the beast? What does the
beast represent?
Answer: In
Revelation
13:1-10, Jesus portrays the papacy as a combination of church and state. In
Revelation
chapter 17, Jesus depicts the church (the harlot) and state (the beast) as
separate entities, though related. The woman is astride the beast, which
signifies that the church is in control of the state.
8. What other powers unite with the papacy in
fulfilling end-time events?
“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of
the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the
mouth of the false prophet. “For they are the spirits of devils, working
miracles, [which] go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world,
to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” (Revelation
16:13, 14)

dragon of Revelation

form an alliance with the beast of Revelation
13:1–8, or the papacy.
A. The
dragon of Revelation
12 represents Satan working through pagan Rome. The dragon is the red
beast that gives the seat to the Papacy or woman. (Rev
13:2, 5 17:3) In these last days the unholy partnership includes
non-Christian religions such as Islam, Buddhism, Shintoism, Hinduism, the New
Age, secular humanism, etc.
B. The false prophet represents apostate Protestantism centered in the United States, which will take the lead in urging worldwide worship of the beast or Papacy.
C. The beast is the papacy in Revelation 16:13, which is an allusion to the beast in Revelation 13. However, the beast from the bottomless pit in Revelation 17:3, 8 is none other than the “scarlet” or “red” beast which is the dragon in Revelation 12. It is also mentioned in Revelation 11:7. Satan is the ultimate king of Babylon. (Isa 14:4, 12) He is a great figure in the final battle or war against God’s people. (Rev 12:17, 16:13, 14, 17:14)
D. These three powers: non-Christian religions and governments, apostate Protestantism, and Roman Catholicism will become allies in Armageddon—the final war against God, His law, and His loyal followers. This coalition is called “Babylon the great” by Jesus in Revelation (Rev 16:19, 18:2)
9. How will organizations with such diverse
backgrounds effectively unite?
“These are of one mind, and they will give their power and
authority to the beast” (Revelation
17:13).
Answer: Revelation
16:13, 14
says “unclean spirits like frogs,” which are “spirits of devils,” or demons
will unite them through the miracles they will work. Spiritualism—the belief
that the dead are alive and can contact the living—will be the tenet that welds
all together. Satan and his angels—posing as the spirits of dead loved ones,
prophets of old, angels of heaven (2
Corinthians 11:13, 14),and even Christ Himself (Matthew
24:24)—will convince the world that their cause is guided from heaven.
Incidentally, all three entities believe that the dead are alive:
A. Catholicism prays to Mary and other
dead saints and believes these saints bless their followers with miracles.
B. Non-Christian
religions are overwhelmingly based on belief in and
worship of spirits of the dead. The New Age stresses “channeling”—supposed
talking to the spirits of the dead.
C. Apostate
Protestantism believes that the dead are not dead but,
rather, alive in heaven or hell. Thus they are susceptible to deception by
demons who pose as spirits of the dead, as dead loved ones coming back to give
messages from God.
10. For what sins does God indict Babylon?
“Babylon the great is fallen” (Revelation
18:2).”… Is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of
every foul spirit… By thy sorceries
were all nations deceived.” (Revelation
18:2,23).
“The inhabitants of the earth were made drunk” from the wine
of abomination and fornication found in her cup. (Revelation
17:2, 4; 18:3).
“The kings of the earth have committed fornication with her” (Revelation 18:3).
Answer: It
is an abomination to God for the church to fornicate with the kings of the
earth. (Lev
18:22, 23) The wine that fills the cup is the “blood of saints”
(Rev
17:6) It is caused by her church and state union. Her
fornication. God says that this fornication is so abominable that
“the ten horns…make her desolate.” The ten horns being the kings of the
earth. (Rev
17:12) This is the cause of the judgment “Babylon is fallen.” (Rev
17:1, 2, 18:2-4) This is an abomination to God, so much so that it
leaves her empty desolate, to the point where the Spirit is no more found in
her. (Rev
18:23) This is also the sin that causes her to be “burnt with fire” (Rev
17:16, 18:9)
“And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by
playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.” (Leviticus
21:9)
Just as Jerusalem of old was burnt with fire after playing
the harlot with Rome professing to have “no king but Caesar” (Matt
24:15, Dan
9:27, John
19:15) so too, because of this final sin, the world, modern Babylon guilty
of the same sin, suffers the same fate as is recorded in the judgment in the
law of God.
To fall means to turn away from Bible truth and the worship
of the true God (2
Peter 3:17-18). Thus, God is
indicting Babylon for (1) conferring with
devils by inviting evil spirits into its midst through spiritualism and for (2) deceiving virtually the entire world through
lying, demonic spirits. Lies are a type of abomination in the Bible (Proverbs
12:22). Babylon’s wine, which contains false teachings, disorients and benumbs
those who drink it and makes them spiritually drunk. In contrast, the church is
the bride of Christ (Revelation
19:7-8) and loves Him and is loyal to Him only—which Jesus said means
keeping His commandments (John
14:15). Therefore, the papacy is censured here for turning away from her
husband, Jesus (James
4:4) and for forming illicit relationships with civil governments (union of
church and state) for her support. In addition, Babylon trafficks in the “souls
of men” (Revelation
18:11–13); thus, God denounces Babylon for treating people as merchandise
rather than as precious children of God.
11. What are some of the false teachings contained in Babylon’s
wine that make people spiritually drunk and confused?
A. The law of God has been amended or repealed.

Note: These false teachings, once believed, tend to bring “confusion” (which is what the term “Babylon” literally means) and make understanding Scripture much more difficult. The devil is the King of Babylon (Isaiah 14:4, 12) and wants nothing less than to confuse the minds of the people.
A Sobering
Thought
It’s sobering to think that some might unknowingly be
drinking Babylon’s wine. Perhaps this is all new to you. If so, ask God to
guide you (Matthew
7:7-8). Then search the Scriptures (Acts
17:11). Promise that you will follow where Jesus leads, and He will not
permit you to end up in error (John
7:17).
12. Who will be on the Lord’s side in the battle of
Armageddon?
Answer: In
this final battle, the angels of heaven (Hebrews
1:13, 14;
Matthew
13:41-42) and God’s people—the remnant (Revelation
12:17)—will be allied with Jesus, who leads the armies of heaven against
Satan and his supporters.
God’s remnant is composed of those who refuse the falsehoods
of Babylon. They are known for (1) their love of Jesus (1
John 5:2-3), (2) their loyalty to him, their faith, and their patience. (Revelation
14:12), and (3) their obedience to His Word and commandments (Revelation
12:17; John
8:31-32).
13. What will be Satan’s strategy in this final conflict
between God’s truth and Satan’s lies?
Answer:
Though Satan hates God and His Son, he and his demons will pose as holy angels
and as devoted Christian clergymen (2
Corinthians 11:13–15). What he presents as evidence for his side will seem
so righteous, spiritual, and Jesus-like that nearly everybody on earth will be
deceived and follow him (Matthew
24:24). He will doubtless use the Bible, as he did when tempting Jesus in
the wilderness (Matthew
4:1–11). Satan’s logic is so persuasive that it deceived one third of the
angels of heaven, Adam and Eve, and, at the time of the Flood, everybody on
earth except eight people.
14. What is God’s counter-strategy?
“To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak
according to this word, it is because there is no light in them” (Isaiah
8:20).
Answer: If
an angel of heaven comes to you telling you something, it must be tested.
Spirits of devils are on the loose, and they are speaking through humanity,
taking on the form of men, loved ones who have passed on, and also posing as
angels of light. God always counters Satan’s lies with truth. When
tempted by Satan in the wilderness, Jesus repeatedly quoted Scripture (Matthew
4:1–11). Through His remnant people, God will tell the truth about the
unbiblical nature of Babylon the great. He will make it clear that Babylon is
presenting a false gospel (Galatians
1:8–12), which has opened the door for billions to be deceived and lost.
15. Will God’s end-time messages of warning and hope be
effective?
“And after these things I saw another angel come down from
heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.” (Revelation 18:1)
Answer: In
Scripture, angels represent messengers or messages (Hebrews
1:13, 14). God’s end-time appeal is symbolized by a mighty angel whose
power is so great that the entire world is lightened with God’s truth and
glory. (Rev
18:1) This final, God-given message will go to the inhabitants of the
entire world (Revelation
14:6; Mark
16:15; Matthew
24:14).
16. What final, urgent appeal will Jesus make to those who
are in Babylon?
Answer: He will say, “Come out of her,
my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her
plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her
iniquities.” (Revelation
18:4-5)
Please notice that Jesus refers to many people in Babylon as
“my people.” There are millions of sincere Christians in Babylon who have not
yet heard this warning message. These people love the Lord supremely, and Jesus
says they are His children.
17. How will people who love Jesus but who are now in
Babylon respond when they hear His appeal to come out?
Answer: Jesus
says, “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold; them also I must
bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold [and] one
shepherd… My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” (John
10:16, 27)
Jesus recognizes His children who are in Babylon. Further,
He promises to call them out of Babylon before it is destroyed. And, most
glorious of all, Jesus promises that His people who are yet in Babylon will
hear and recognize His voice and come out to safety.
18. If you are in Babylon, are you willing to heed Jesus’
urgent appeal to come out of her?
Answer: God knows you have been seduced into this FALSE RELIGION and He gave His Son to help you have the strength to come out from the lies and deception.
THOUGHT QUESTIONS
1. Shouldn’t I remain in Babylon and try to reform her
instead of coming out?
No. Jesus says Babylon is going to be destroyed, not
reformed. She will become hopelessly drunk with her wine (identified as false
doctrine in Revelation
18:2–6). It is for this reason that He calls His people out (Revelation
18:4). It is very dangerous to stay in churches where error is being
pressed upon the mind.
2. Who are the
kings of the east of Revelation 16:12?
The kings of the
east are Christ and his angels. We are told in Revelation
16:15 “Behold I come as a thief” which is an allusion to the second coming
of Christ (Matt
24:43) who is coming from the east. (Matt
24:27)They are called kings of the east because that is the direction from
which heavenly beings approach the earth. Note the following, for example:
A. Jesus’ second coming will be from the east (Matthew 24:27).
B. God’s glory comes from the east (Ezekiel 43:2).
C. Revelation’s sealing angel comes from the east (Revelation 7:2).
D. The sun, symbolizing Jesus, rises in the east (Malachi 4:2).
E. Tidings out of the east symbolize the gospel (Dan 11:44)
In verse 19 it also tells us that “Babylon…fell” and “was
divided into three parts”. That threefold union of the dragon, beast, and false
prophet, becomes a three part division eventually. The fall caused by the
fornication with the kings of the earth all is similar to the fall of ancient
Babylon when Cyrus came and dried up the Euphrates to take the city. (Dan
5:27-28, Rev
16:12) Cyrus is called “mine anointed” in Isaiah
45:1. The Hebrew word for “anointed” is “Messiah” which means
“Christ” (John
1:41). Cyrus the Persian King of old dried up the Euphrates and
destroyed ancient Babylon. In the same sense Christ “the King of Kings” (Rev
19:16), is leading his angels back to this earth to execute judgment on
modern Babylon.
3. Does the warning about the fall of Babylon imply
that Babylon has not always been fallen?
Yes. Many of the churches comprising Babylon have stood
strong, tall, and loyal to Jesus in the past. The founders were flawed but
devoted people of God who were searching the Bible diligently to discover all
of its truth. Not all churches are fallen today. They may be Babylon, confused
in regard to doctrine, but until they take that step of seeking civil power or
accepting it, they are yet to fall. (Rev
17:1-2, 18:2-4)
However, any church that teaches mother Babylon’s false doctrines and follows
her practices could become one of her fallen daughters.
4. What do the
10 kings of Revelation 17:12–16 represent?
The 10 kings symbolize the nations of the world. The 10 toes
of the image of Daniel
chapter 2 and the 10 horns of the monster beast of Daniel
chapter 7 symbolize the 10 kingdoms of Europe. However, the meaning is
broadened in Revelation
chapters 11 through 18 to mean all “the kings of the earth” or “all the
nations.” (See Revelation
16:14; 18:3.)
5. What does the symbolism of “unclean
spirits” and “frogs” mean in Revelation 16:13-14?
A frog captures its
prey with its tongue, which could symbolize the counterfeit gift of tongues now
sweeping the world. Please remember that miracles, including the gift of
tongues, prove only one thing—supernatural power. A counterfeit of the gift of
God’s Holy Spirit. (1
Corinthians 12:28) When God gave the gift of tongues in Acts
chapter 2, he signified it by “fire…from heaven” (Acts
2:1-4) This is very similar to the “fire from heaven” which is also
described as “miracles” in (Revelation
13:13-14) But the Bible informs us that supernatural power can be
from either God or Satan. It further explains that Satan, posing as an angel (2
Corinthians 11:14), will utilize supernatural miracles so effectively that
almost the entire world will be deceived and follow him (Revelation
13:3). At present, he is using the counterfeit gift of tongues to weld
together churches and religions of all kinds—including pagans. Each of these
feels that the gift of tongues is proof of authenticity. However, it may
be another “spirit”.
We Must Test the
Spirits.
The Bible warns that we must test the spirits (1
John 4:1); If they do not agree with the Bible, they are counterfeits (Isaiah
8:19- 20). Further, the true gifts of the Holy Spirit are never given to
one who deliberately and knowingly disobeys God (Acts
5:32). There is a true gift of tongues. It is a miraculous enabling to
fluently speak foreign languages previously unlearned and unknown by the
speaker (Acts
2:4–12). God uses this gift when needed to present His end-time message to
those of other languages. It was needed at Pentecost because 17 language groups
were in the crowd (Acts
2:8) and His disciples didn’t know all of those languages.
6. Will the New Age movement play a major role in the
final end-time conflict between good and evil?
Without a doubt! It is strongly involved with the occult,
psychic phenomena, and spiritism. Most a-list actors today practice what is
called “method acting” and many who play roles allow a spirit to enter into
them so that they can do these performances. Spiritism will be a major factor
in the closing drama of earth. Combined with the supernatural power of the
counterfeit gift of tongues and allied with the end-time worldwide coalition of
churches, spiritism will sweep the globe. The New Age belief in spirit
communication and reincarnation is simply ancient paganism in new garb. Its
belief in an immortal soul that can communicate with earth people is the same
falsehood Satan told Eve in Eden: “Ye shall not surely die” (Genesis
3:4).

of the antichrist {papacy} in Daniel
chapter 7 and Revelation
chapters 13, 17, and 18. Is the antichrist mentioned elsewhere in
Scripture?
Yes. The antichrist, power (or its activities) is referred
to in at least nine prophecies of the Old and New Testaments: Daniel
7, Daniel 8, Daniel 9; Daniel
11; Revelation
12; Revelation
13; Revelation
16; Revelation
17; Revelation
18; and Revelation
19. Surely, when God stresses the same power nine different times, He wants
us to listen!
8. Did Satan’s kingdom called “Babylon” originate at
the Tower of Babel?
No. It originated when Satan rebelled against God in heaven.
The prophet Isaiah characterized Lucifer at the time of his fall as the king of
Babylon (Isaiah
14:4, 12–15).
God has looked upon Satan’s kingdom as Babylon from the very beginning of sin.
Satan’s avowed aim is to wipe out God’s kingdom and establish his own. Jesus
said there are only two sides (Matthew
7:13-14).
Every soul on earth will finally line up on the side of either
Jesus or Babylon. It is a matter of life and death. Those who serve and support
Jesus will be saved in His heavenly kingdom. Those who support Babylon will be
destroyed. And there is very little time left for decision making. This is why
heeding Jesus’ end-time warning against Babylon is so extremely crucial and
urgent.
9. In Revelation
16:12, what is meant by the waters of the Euphrates River being dried up to
prepare the way for the kings of the east?
“The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers
of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the
wilderness.” (Joel
1:20)It is a symbol of desolation, emptiness. The river dries up because of
a lack of rain. (Joel 2:23) And it is the
overspreading of abominations that makes desolate. When speaking of water
Jesus said He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his

In Revelation
16:14 we are told that coming “out of the mouth” of the dragon, beast and
false prophet are “unclean spirits”. In Revelation
12 we are told that it is a “flood” coming “out of the mouth of the dragon”
(Rev
12:15-16) this again symbolizing “spirit” yet “unclean” or

Before the ancient kingdom of Babylon was captured, the
water of the River Euphrates, which passed underneath the walls of the city,
was diverted into a man-made lake bed. This diversion permitted Darius’ army to
capture the city at night by entering from underneath the walls through the
empty riverbed.
The drying up of the Euphrates is a symbol of God removing
His Spirit from the earth. It is a symbol of God removing His Spirit from
modern day Babylon. The Euphrates is a symbol of God’s spirit of life that
flowed out from the throne of God. (Gen

is finally withdrawn and thus “the

{The Nicene Creed is a statement of belief widely used in
Christian liturgy. It is called Nicene because it was originally adopted in the
city of Nicaea by the First Council of Nicaea in 325.}
***The Justinian Code***
This is a copy of the decree of the Justinian Code by the
emperor Justinian. This Code was put in place in 534AD. This decree was made
against those who did not support the Trinity creed. The Papacy used this
decree to destroy all those that were found to be non-trinitarian. A group of
people were destroyed in 538AD called the Ostrogoths. Many of us will recognize
this group as the 3rd horn that was uprooted by the Papacy. After destroying
the Ostrogoths in 538AD because of their unbelief in the Trinity Creed. This
was what marked the beginning of the 1260 year reign of Church and State terror
from 538-1798 when the church and state reign was broken by general Berthier
under Napoleon.
While reading this I would like all especially who are
non-trinitarian to consider the spirit behind the God of Babylon. (Rev 13:2,
18:2).
Religious observances were not allowed outside of accepting the Trinity,
and relentless violence was to be used against them. This Code of Justinian
gives us the idea of how much freedom God has granted us here today.

Let no place be afforded to heretics for
the conduct of their ceremonies, and let no occasion be offered for them to
display the insanity of their obstinate minds. Let all persons know that if any
privilege has been fraudulently obtained by means of any rescript whatsoever,
by persons of this kind, it will not be valid. Let all bodies of heretics be
prevented from holding unlawful assemblies, and let the name of the only and
the greatest God be celebrated everywhere, and let the observance of the Nicene
Creed, recently transmitted to Our ancestors, and firmly established by the
testimony and practice of Divine Religion, always remain secure.
(1) Moreover, he who is an adherent of the
Nicene Faith, and a true believer in the Catholic religion, should be
understood to be one [pg. 10] who believes that Almighty God and Christ, the
son of God, are one person, God of God, Light of Light; and let no one, by
rejection, dishonor the Holy Spirit, whom we expect, and have received from the
Supreme Parent of all things, in whom the sentiment of a pure and undefiled
faith flourishes, as well as the belief in the undivided substance of a Holy
Trinity, which true believers indicate by the Greek word
These things, indeed do not require further proof, and
should be respected.
(2) Let those who do not accept those
doctrines cease to apply the name of true religion to their fraudulent belief;
and let them be branded with their open crimes, and, having been removed from
the threshold of all churches, be
utterly excluded from them, as We forbid all heretics to hold unlawful
assemblies within cities. If, however, any seditious outbreak should be
attempted, We order them to be driven outside the walls of the City, with
relentless violence, and We direct that all Catholic Churches, throughout the
entire world, shall be placed under the control of the orthodox bishops who
have embraced the Nicene Creed.

3. The Emperor Martian to Palladius,
Praetorian Prefect.
No one, whether he belongs to the clergy,
the army, or to any other condition of men, shall, with a view to causing a
tumult and giving occasion to treachery, attempt to discuss the Christian
religion publicly in the presence of an assembled and listening crowd; for he
commits an injury against the most reverend Synod who publicly contradicts what
has once been decided and properly established; as those matters relative to
the Christian faith have been settled by the priests who met at Chalcedony by
Our order, and are known to be in conformity with the apostolic explanations
and conclusions of the three hundred and eight Holy Fathers assembled in Nicea,
and the hundred and fifty who met in this Imperial City; for the violators of
this law shall not go unpunished, because they not only oppose the true faith,
but they also profane its venerated mysteries by engaging in contests of this
kind with Jews and Pagans. Therefore, if any person who has ventured to
publicly discuss religious matters is a member of the clergy, he shall be
removed from his order; if he is a member of the army, he shall be degraded;
and any others who are guilty of this offence, who are freemen, shall be
banished from this most Sacred City, and shall be subjected to the punishment
prescribed by law according to the power of the court; and if they are slaves,
they shall undergo severest penalty.

4. John, Bishop of the City of
Rome, to his most Illustrious and Merciful Son Justinian.
Among the conspicuous reasons for praising
your wisdom and gentleness, Most Christian of Emperors, and one which radiates
light [pg. 11] as a star, is the fact
that through love of the Faith, and actuated by zeal for charity, you, learned
in ecclesiastical discipline, have preserved reverence for the See of Rome, and
have subjected all things to its authority, and have given it unity. The
following precept was communicated to its founder, that is to say, the first of
the Apostles, by the mouth of the Lord, namely: "Feed my lambs."
This See is indeed the head of all
churches, as the rules of the Fathers and the decrees of the Emperors assert,
and the words of your most reverend piety testify. It is therefore claimed that
what the Scriptures state, namely, "By Me Kings Reign, and the Powers dispense justice;" will be
accomplished in you. For there is nothing which shines with a more brilliant
lustre than genuine faith when displayed by a prince, since there is nothing
which prevents destruction as true religion does, for as both of them have
reference to the Author of Life and Light, they disperse darkness and prevent
apostasy. Wherefore, Most Glorious of Princes, the Divine Power is implored by
the prayers of all to preserve your piety in this ardor for the Faith, in this
devotion of your mind, and in this zeal for true religion, without failure,
during your entire existence. For we believe that this is for the benefit of
the Holy Churches, as it was written, "The king rules with his lips,"
and again, "The heart of the King is in the hand of God, and it will
incline to whatever side God wishes"; that is to say, that He may confirm
your empire, and maintain your kingdoms for the peace of the Church and the
unity of religion; guard their authority, and preserve him in that sublime tranquility which is so grateful to him; and
no small change is granted by the Divine Power through whose agency a divided
church is not afflicted by any grief’s
or subject to any reproaches. For it is written, "A just king, who is upon
his throne, has no reason to apprehend any misfortune."
We have received with all due respect the
evidences of your serenity, through Hypatius and Demetrius, most holy men, my
brothers and fellow-bishops, from whose statements we have learned that you
have promulgated an Edict addressed to your faithful people, and dictated by
your love of the Faith, for the purpose of overthrowing the designs of

PREFACE.
We enact the present law with reference to
ecclesiastical rules and privileges and other subjects in which holy churches
and religious establishments are entrusted.
Chapter I.
Concerning Four Holy Councils.
Therefore We order that the sacred,
ecclesiastical rules which were adopted and confirmed by the four Holy
Councils, that is to say, that of the three hundred and eighteen bishops held
at Nicea, that of the one hundred and fifty bishops held at Constantinople, the
first one of Ephesus, where Nestorius was condemned, and the one assembled at
Chalcedon, where Eutyches and Nestorius were anathematized, shall be considered
as laws. We accept the dogmas of these four Councils as sacred writings, and
observe their rules as legally effective.
Chapter II.
Concerning The Precedence of Patriarchs’.
Hence, in accordance with the provisions of these Councils, We order that the Most Holy Pope of ancient Rome shall hold the first rank of all the Pontiffs, but the Most Blessed Archbishop of Constantinople, or New Rome, shall occupy the second place after the Holy Apostolic See of ancient Rome, which shall take precedence over all other sees.

This is stunning news in light of the fact that the apostate Roman Catholic Church teaches that Salvation is found in the Roman Catholic Church alone. Any person who’s not a Catholic is considered anathema — condemned to hell. Here is the RCC’s official stance:

Obviously the pastors who believe the Pope is their brother in Christ has no clue what the head of the RCC believe about them — unless they join the RCC, they’ll spend eternity in hell. And this includes high profile evangelical pastors, including Rick Warren, T.D. Jakes and Joel Osteen, who “expressed their excitement and support for the papal pomp and circumstance.” Many pastors, including our so-called leaders, seem to have forgotten that the Protestant Reformation was named for protesting Roman Catholicism!
What the survey reveals is that a substantial number of the pastors who took the time to respond were unaware of the pope’s 2014 proclamation in which he stated:
There is no such thing as a Christian without the [Roman Catholic] Church, a Christian who walks alone, because Jesus inserted himself into the journey of His people: This was Pope Francis reflection at Mass this morning in Casa Santa Marta… So “you cannot understand a Christian outside of the people of God. The Christian is not a monad”, but “belongs to a people: the Church. A Christian without a church is something purely idealistic, it is not real”…
A Christian without the Church is incomprehensible… “A Christian is a [memorioso – living memory] of the history of his people, he is a living memory of his people’s journey, he is the living memory of his Church… And for this, a Christian in the Church is a man, a woman with hope: hope in the promise…”
He is a man of the covenant, and we celebrate the covenant, everyday” in the Mass: thus a Christian is “a woman, a man of the Eucharist”…
This Pope is working to

Rome plans on following through with this threat:
The thought of a revived Holy Office of the Inquisition would pacify some and
offend others. Nevertheless, the “Holy Office” still exists. Only its name has been changed. Pope
John Paul II has been instrumental in its revival. One may argue that this
Ratzinger run agency is merely an attempt by the Catholic Church to root out
communism or backslidden priests and their practices. However, with John Paul
II’s objective to implement “God’s mandate” by creating a global church-state which will
administer from traditional Roman Catholic theology, is enough cause for alarm.
Malachi Martin has already stated in his book, “The keys of this Blood,” that the pope will not tolerate any
belief systems that oppose his, not on a civil or church level. In John Paul II the world
will behold a tyrant
who will coldly execute direct orders against those whom he deems are heretics or immoral.
Moreover, like his papal predecessors, John Paul II will carry out his “Godly

Now let's examine the history on how the Roman Catholic Church got it's claws in the Evangelical Church.

The
Catholic Charismatic Movement began in 1967 in the USA and since then it has
spread to all nations where the Catholic Church exists. Pope Paul VI,
Pope John Paul II, and the present pope, Pope Benedict XVI, has all
acknowledged it. Pope John Paul II even declared that the movement was
integral to the renewal of the entire Catholic Church. At the present
time, it is recognized in the official teachings of the Roman Church.
Thus they state,
“There
are sacramental graces, gifts proper to the different sacraments.
There are furthermore special graces, also called charismas’ after
the Greek term used by St. Paul and meaning ‘favor,’ ‘gratuitous gift,’
‘benefit.’ Whatever their character – sometimes it is extraordinary, such
as the gift of miracles or of tongues – charismas’ are oriented toward
sanctifying grace and are intended for the common good of the Church. They are
at the service of charity which builds up the Church” [1]
When
Evangelicals first examined the impact of the Catholic Charismatic Movement,
they largely deemed it to be a good enthusiastic movement with a few curious
practices, such as speaking in tongues. Only rarely was it scripturally
scrutinized. The Papacy, ever adept at changing its policies, around the
same time formulated a new method by which to snare Evangelicals. This
major tactical change that took place in Vatican Council II (1962 to 1965) was
to officially declare that Papal Rome was now ready to ecumenize with Hindus,
Muslims, and other religions. In particular, Evangelicals, formerly
called heretics, were now to be seen as “separated brethren” and thus to be
wooed, “little by little,” back into the Roman Catholic fold.[2] Many Evangelicals supported the Catholic Ecumenical
outreach believing it would draw the Catholic Church and Evangelical
communities closer together in a truly spiritual ecumenism. However, the
false ecumenism of Papal Rome and her associates has proven to be a perilous
menace to believers. The world in our day is, as the Apostle John wrote, “in
the power of the evil one.”[3] The greatest danger is the one that is not recognized as
a threat. Many Evangelicals are lulled into an ecumenical world
constructed by the Catholic Church. Since a multitude of Evangelical and
Emergent churches across the world are involved and ensnared by Charismatic and
Ecumenical Movements, it is of utmost importance that we examine what is the
basis to the Catholic Charismatic Movement.
The Foundation of the Catholic
Charismatic Movement
The
Catholic Charismatic Movement, like the Pentecostal Movement from which it
derived its doctrine, is based on what is called “the baptism of the Holy
Spirit.” There is a genuine being baptized in the Holy Spirit which is
synonymous with being convicted by the Holy Spirit, as one believes on Christ
Jesus and becomes a true believer. Real confusion is caused in the
present-day world by the teaching of Pentecostal and Charismatic churches that
a believer needs a second blessing; i.e., that each believer needs to be
“baptized in the Holy Spirit.” This is emphatically not what the
Scripture says. The Holy Spirit is the only efficient cause of being
“born again.” The same principle of life is later repeated by the Lord, “it
is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing….”[4] The Lord God gloriously saves sinners “according
to his mercy, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”[5] True believers are “born, not of blood, nor of the
will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God,”[6]for “of his own will begat he us with the word of truth.”[7] This is utterly splendid, clear, and profound. The
direct work of the Holy Spirit on the soul of man is necessary because man is
spiritually dead. In the words of the Apostle, “for the law of the
Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”[8] The new birth by the Holy Spirit is essential because
natural man is totally deficient in and of himself. It is not that he is
weak and needs stimulation. Spiritually, he is dead. In the words
of Paul the Apostle we read, “and you hath He quickened, who were dead in
trespasses and sins.”[9] Because there is a direct connection between
the redemption of Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, it is a
soul-damning error to substitute ritual of prayer to receive “the second
blessing” in place of the direct work of the Holy Spirit. In the words of
Scripture, “that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”[10] “God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is
in his Son.”[11] The work of the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary to
bring the sinner to Christ, to overcome his innate opposition, and induce him
to believe. In all of this, the Holy Spirit is sovereign.
Charismatic
Catholics draw from many sources. They have a traditional reliance on the
teachings of the Pope and the Catholic Sacraments. Then they draw from
the Pentecostal ‘Word of Faith’ movement and such as Catholic and Zen
Mystics. What is most evident, however, is what their official teaching
calls, “special graces…charismas’ [and that which] is
extraordinary, such as the gift of miracles or of tongues…”[12] Thus, Charismatic Catholics have accepted many of the
teachings of the Pentecostal Word of Faith movement regarding the gifts of the
Holy Spirit and healings. However, this Pentecostal Word of Faith
movement is simply a dramatized form of mysticism. For example, Kenneth
Copeland states in a sermon tape, “You don’t have a god in you, you are one.”[13] In a 1987 crusade, Copeland is documented as
saying, “I say this and repeat it so it don’t upset you too bad. [sic]
When I read in the Bible where He (Jesus) says, I AM, I say, Yes, I am too!”[14] Kenneth Hagin of Word of Faith states, “You are as much
the incarnation of God as Jesus Christ was. Every man who has been born
again is an incarnation and Christianity is a miracle. The believer is as
much an incarnation as was Jesus of Nazareth.”[15] Casey Treat, known for the infamous quote, “When
God looks into the mirror, He sees me! When I look into the mirror I see
God!”[16] Treat proclaims on his website, “God dwells in
you. God walks in you. When you walk, God walks. When you
show up, God shows up. When you show up, a winner shows up. You
won’t lose.”[17] Paul Crouch, Benny Hinn, Charles Capps, Robert
Tilton, Paul Yonggi Cho, Marilyn Hickey, Morris Cerullo, T.L. Osborn, and Jerry
Savelle are just a few of the well-known names that promote stage-managed
mysticism. As one might suspect, many of the gurus of dramatized
mysticism promote ecumenism with Catholicism. The Trinity Broadcasting
Network—one of the largest radio and TV networks in the world today, through
its founders, Paul and Jan Crouch—fosters fellowship with Roman Catholics amid
mysticism presented in the whirling garments of emotionalism. For
example, one website exposed Benny Hinn as a “Catholic Mystic.”
He
fits perfectly into the category of a Charismatic Catholic priest, dispensing
theological bondage and mystical superstition…a recent Benny Hinn three hour
video which presented him ‘as a ‘twentieth century’ ‘Holy of Holies’, a ‘point
of contact’ for the power and anointing of God much as Roman Catholic priests
were presented during medieval times. They also suggested that he is
becoming a kind of ‘Charismatic Pope.’”[18]
In
biblical terms, the Catholic Charismatic is spiritually dead and deceiving many
others. The Catholic Charismatics like the Copelands, the Crouches, Hinn,
Hagin, and others like them would have you rejoice in the light within, by
claiming that you are a god within. The Lord God Almighty proclaims, “I
am the Lord; that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another,
neither my praise to graven images.”[19] The Word of the Lord still stands, “To the law
and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is
because there is no light in them.”[20]
The
so-called signs and wonders are deceiving lies. We remember the Lord’s
own words that many at the last day will say to Him, “Lord, Lord” but
He will reply “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”[21] What is totally missing is the Gospel by
which one comes to salvation. In the words of Scripture we read, “If
any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be
accursed.”[22] The Catholic Charismatic, similar to those
in “Word of Faith movement,” practices “faith in faith.” What must be
explained to them is that one is saved by God’s grace alone, through faith
alone, and in Christ Jesus alone. In trusting on the finished work of
Christ Jesus alone, one has credited to himself 100% right standing with
God. This is the whole impact of what Scriptures states, “But now the
righteousness of God without the law is manifested.”[23] One’s right standing with God is declared to be in
Jesus Christ solely because of what Christ Jesus has done, “even the
righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all
them that believe: for there is no difference.”[24] The problem is stated as, “all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God.”[25] However, the glory and the magnificence of the Gospel
is proclaimed as, “being justified freely by His grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus.”[26] This is the only way one’s spiritual life can be
perfect. The Lord Jesus Christ forewarned believers that “strait is
the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth to life,” but “broad is
the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be which go in there
at.”[27] This summarizes the Catholic Charismatic and Ecumenical
Movements. They are “broad ways” with nothing to hedge in those that walk
in them. Rather, they wander endlessly because there are many pathways;
there are choices of sinful ways, some contrary to each other, but all paths
are on the same destructive broad ways. Those leaders in these movements
teach and behave as if they were true to Scripture. In actual fact, they
interweave with Scripture the experience of claimed signs and wonders, and thus
utterly pervert the Gospel. True faith is found in the scriptural
knowledge of Jesus Christ. This scriptural knowledge is distinct from
experiences and other ways of knowledge. The true believer sees the
spiritual excellence and glory that is in Jesus Christ. He sees the
all-sufficiency of righteousness is found in Christ. Thus, he is
persuaded of the Lord’s readiness to save sinners by His grace, although a
sinner. We praise God that in Scripture grace is totally His free gift, “wherein
he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”[28] In salvation, one is not accepted in any sacrament
or experience, but in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
