But
prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s
precepts], and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize
its meaning], deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth].
For if anyone only listens to the word without obeying it, he is like a man who
looks very carefully at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and
gone away, he immediately forgets what he looked like.But he
who looks carefully into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and faithfully abides by it, not having become a
[careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he will be
blessed and favored by God in
what he does [in his life of obedience]. James 1:22-25
So you are one
of those “Christians” that has memorized the “Important Scriptures”, attend
every Church “Worship” Service, sing in the Church “Choir”, and listen ONLY to
Christian “Music”. All of these things are great as long as you are living up
to God’s expectations for your life.
Now step in
front of God’s “Mirror of Truth” and check yourself to see if you are “Truly”
living up to God’s expectations for your life. Do you “look like the world”,
act like Christ Jesus or the world, only know enough scripture to pass judgment
on others, and continue to be mislead by a FALSE TEACHER/PREACHER?
It is important to know the Word of God so you can stand
up against the things of this world that Satan will use to MISLEAD you and keep
you from living your life according to the expectations of our Heavenly Father.
Just because you claim to be a “Christian” does not mean you are a “True”
follower of Christ Jesus. IF you follow the example Jesus left for His
followers you will not have any resemblance to this world we live in from day
to day.
It
is important as “Christians” who are truly “Followers” of Christ Jesus that we
are not “Blinded” by False Teachers/Preachers who are actually ministers of
Satan cloaked as ministers of the Gospel. If a person delivering a message does
not line up with the Word of God then that person is a FALSE teacher/preacher
period. Flowery sermons that make you f eel good week after week will NOT
increase your faith. God is looking for men and women who want a LIFE CHANGING
experience. He wants men and women who are fed up with all the LIES of the god
of this world and his demonic ministers. If your minister is NOT preaching against
the SINS of the FLESH, Repentance/Confession of Sins, being baptized for remission of sins, being
obedient to God’s Word, and the Freedom that comes from making these things
part of your life, your preacher is a FALSE TEACHER/PREACHER you need to get
away from immediately.
Satan
is a LIAR who speaks only half truths to deceive and blind you from the truth
according to John 8:44.
Even his demons transform themselves into ministers of righteousness {2 Corinthians 11:14-15}. Jesus Christ WARNED you in His Word that this
would be the case more and more as this world becomes more corrupt every day.
Satan knows his time is short so he will do whatever it takes to deceive as
many as he can so he is working hard to create a ONE WORLD RELIGION that
will be controlled by one of his demons {Revelation 13:1-18}.
As
followers of Christ Jesus we must ask ourselves is our FAITH – DEAD or ALIVE?
Are you following a RELIGION that is teaching you the only thing you need is
FAITH to be justified? If you can answer yes to this question then you are
FOLLOWING A DEAD FAITH, a RELIGION that is leading you away from an eternity
with your Creator God. This my friend is how subtle Satan is when he twists the
Word of God or only uses HALF TRUTHS to deceive and blind those who chose to
follow Jesus {John 8:44}.
God
does not want you to be a DEAD “Christian”; He wants you to be ALIVE through
living His Word. So what is the difference between a DEAD and ALIVE
“Christian”? This would be how you apply your FAITH in God.
A DEAD FAITH
“Christian” believes that FAITH ONLY or FAITH ALONE will get you into Heaven {James 2:17, 24, 26}. This type of Christian will NOT LOVE like Jesus
{John 14:24}, they will NOT keep the Commandments of God {1 John 2:4}
and they will do NOTHING to further the Kingdom of God {John 12:42-43}.
A
“Christian” who is living ALIVE FAITH will prove themselves by keeping
{Works} God’s Commandments through a spirit of {LOVE} John 14:15, 21; Galatians 5:6.
A person is justified by works and not by faith alone and will be perfected
through their obedience to God’s Word {Matthew 7:21; James 2:22; James 2:24}.
Here
are a few examples of “ALIVE FAITH” in action:
Noah
– Put his FAITH into ACTION through OBEDIENCE when God warned him about the
flood. {Hebrews 11:7}
Abraham
– Put his FAITH into ACTION through OBEDIENCE to God by going to a foreign land
to receive his inheritance. By FAITH in God he was ready to offer up his son
Isaac as a sacrifice. {Hebrews 11:8-10, 17}
3000
– 3000 men and women put their FAITH into ACTION through OBEDIENCE to God
through REPENTANCE and FOLLOWING INSTRUCTION. {Acts 2:36-42}
Eunuch
- He put his FAITH into ACTION through OBEDIENCE to God by BELIEVING in CHRIST
JESUS and being BAPTIZED for the remission of his sins. {Acts 8:26-39}
When
you step in front of God’s Mirror check yourself to see if you are a DEAD FAITH
CHRISTIAN or ALIVE FAITH CHRISTIAN. The answer may just surprise you.
I
pray you will find yourself in the ALIVE category; however if the DEAD category
is what you see it is time to put the WORD of GOD into ACTION in your life
through FAITH in the FATHER and the SON through the power of the HOLY SPIRIT.
