🏳️‍🌈✝️🔻 Christian Practices that DISHONOR our Heavenly Father

You disregard and neglect the commandment of God, and cling [faithfully] to the tradition of men.” He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside and nullifying the commandment of God in order to keep your [man-made] tradition and regulations. Mark 7:8-9

From the Old Testament to the New Testament we will examine the MOST COMMON things that “Modern Christians” no longer observe and have chosen to honor TRADITIONS of mankind which are Pagan in nature.

From the New Testament we learn that mankind will get worse and worse {2 Timothy 3:1-5, Romans 12:1-2, Romans 1:24-25, Ephesians 5:11-13, Galatians 5:19-24}. All the horrific things you read in the Scriptures that mankind has done will be so much greater before the return of our Savior. Satan transforms himself into an angel of light {2 Corinthians 11:14-15} so he can deceive the people of this world into doing everything our Heavenly Father detests.

Once you KNOW the TRUTH there is NO GOING BACK to the TRADITIONS of mankind you have been following. As you learn the TRUTH ask yourself how much you are willing to sacrifice to continue celebrating Pagan Holidays instead of celebrating the HOLY DAYS of GOD.

Here are a few examples of Old Testament laws that Christians generally do not observe:

·         Prohibited foods

o    Pork (Leviticus 11:7)
o    Certain other animals (Leviticus 11:4-6)
o    Shellfish (Leviticus 11:10)
o    Certain birds (Leviticus 11:13-19)
o    Certain insects (Leviticus 11:20-23)
o    Meat still containing blood (Leviticus 17:12)

·         Circumcision required for males on eighth day

o    (Leviticus 12:1-3)

·         The death penalty for:

·         Feast day observances required:

·         Saturday (seventh day) Sabbath observance

·         Animal sacrifices

New Testament Teachings

Prohibited Foods

And He {Jesus Christ} said to them, “Are you, too, so foolish and lacking in understanding? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile and dishonor him, since it does not enter his heart, but [only] his stomach, and [from there it] is eliminated?” {By this, He declared all foods ceremonially clean. I.e. He abolished all prohibitions given in the Law against certain foods.} Mark 7:18-19

Circumcision

For this reason Moses has given you circumcision {not that it originated with Moses, but with the patriarchs. Here Jesus lets the Pharisees know that circumcision was a “tradition of man NOT a commandment from God} and you circumcise a man [even] on the Sabbath John 7:22
Look out for the dogs [the Judaizers, the legalists], look out for the troublemakers, look out for the false circumcision [those who claim circumcision is necessary for salvation]; for we [who are born-again have been reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, set apart for His purpose and] are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory and take pride and exult in Christ Jesus and place no confidence [in what we have or who we are] in the flesh Philippians 3:2-3

Circumcision [the sign of the covenant of Abraham] is indeed of value if you practice the Law {Circumcision was a law passed down through the generations as a law of God when it was just a “tradition” of man Mark 7:8}; but if you habitually break the Law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision [it is meaningless in God’s sight]. Romans 2:25

Adultery

You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery; but I say to you that everyone who [so much as] looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:27-28

Homosexuals

For there are eunuchs who have been born that way from their mother’s womb [making them incapable of consummating a marriage]; and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men [for royal service]; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves so for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it. Matthew 19:12

But an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up and go south to the road that runs from Jerusalem down to Gaza.” (This is a desert road). So he got up and went; and there was an Ethiopian eunuch [a man of great authority], a court official of Candace, Queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship, and he was returning, and sitting in his chariot he was reading [the scroll of] the prophet Isaiah. Then the [Holy] Spirit said to Philip, “Go up and join this chariot.” Philip ran up and heard the man reading the prophet Isaiah, and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “Well, how could I [understand] unless someone guides me [correctly]?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. Now this was the passage of Scripture which he was reading:

Like a sheep He was led to the slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent
,
So He does not open His mouth
.

In humiliation His judgment was taken away [justice was denied Him].
Who will describe His generation
?
For His life is taken from the earth
.”

The eunuch replied to Philip, “Please tell me, about whom does the prophet say this?; About himself or about someone else?” Then Philip spoke and beginning with this Scripture he preached Jesus to him [explaining that He is the promised Messiah and the source of salvation]. As they continued along the road, they came to some water; and the eunuch exclaimed, “Look! Water! What forbids me from being baptized?”[Philip said to him, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he replied, “I do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”] And he ordered that the chariot be stopped; and both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord [suddenly] took Philip [and carried him] away [to a different place]; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but he went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:26-39

Homosexual acts {temple prostitution}

Everything is permissible for me, but not all things are beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be enslaved by anything [and brought under its power, allowing it to control me]. Food is for the stomach and the stomach for food, but God will do away with both of them. The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body [to save, sanctify, and raise it again because of the sacrifice of the cross]. And God has not only raised the Lord [to life], but will also raise us up by His power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Am I therefore to take the members of Christ and make them part of a prostitute {Corinth was famous for its prostitutes and many if not all probably practiced their trade in connection with the worship of Aphrodite. Having relations with temple or cult prostitutes was considered acceptable behavior, and Paul’s admonitions here indicate that some of the Corinthian converts were continuing the practice.}? Certainly not! Do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her/him? He says, “The two shall be one flesh.” But the one who is united and joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Run away from sexual immorality [in any form, whether thought or behavior, whether visual or written]. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the one who is sexually immoral sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:12-20

For [God does not overlook sin and] the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who in their wickedness suppress and stifle the truth, because that which is known about God is evident within them [in their inner consciousness], for God made it evident to them. For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense. For even though they knew God [as the Creator]; they did not honor Him as God or give thanks [for His wondrous creation]. On the contrary, they became worthless in their thinking [godless, with pointless reasoning’s, and silly speculations], and their foolish heart was darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God for an image [worthless idols] in the shape of mortal man and birds and four-footed animals and reptiles {Here Paul emphasizes that idols are essentially copies of living creatures, whether in human form (as, for example, in ancient Greek myth) or otherwise (as in Egyptian idolatry and metaphysics). These lifeless images are clearly powerless, and even the living creatures which they supposedly represent are either nonexistent hybrids and monsters, or else ordinary creatures on earth who could hardly create so much as a grain of sand.}. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their own hearts to [sexual] impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them [abandoning them to the degrading power of sin], because [by choice] they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them over to degrading and vile passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural [a function contrary to nature], and in the same way also the men turned away from the natural function of the woman and were consumed with their desire toward one another, men with men committing shameful acts and in return receiving in their own bodies the inevitable and appropriate penalty for their wrongdoing. {Here Paul is warning the “Christian’s who were still keeping the tradition of man through temple idol worship through the use of prostitution how their behavior was unpleasing to God.} And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worth knowing [as their Creator], God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do things which are improper and repulsive, until they were filled (permeated, saturated) with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice and mean-spiritedness. They are gossips [spreading rumors], slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors [of new forms] of evil, disobedient and disrespectful to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful [without pity]. Although they know God’s righteous decree and His judgment, that those who do such things deserve death, yet they not only do them, but they even [enthusiastically] approve and tolerate others who practice them. Romans 1:18-32

Now the practices of the sinful nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control), idolatry {temple prostitution often part of pagan rituals}, sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions [that promote heresies] Galatians 5:19-20

Animal Sacrifice

Jesus teaches not merely the inferiority of sacrifice to the moral law, but also the discontinuance of sacrifice as a system, when He said, "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many" (Mark 14:24; Matthew 26:28; Luke 22:20). Not only is the ethical superior to the ceremonial, but His sacrifice of Himself is as superior to the sacrifices of the old system as the new covenant is superior to the old.

Witchcraft and sorcery

Now the practices of the sinful nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control), idolatry, sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions [that promote heresies], envy, drunkenness, riotous behavior, and other things like these. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

Now there was a man named Simon, who previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great. They all paid [a great deal of] attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is what is called the Great Power of God!” They were paying attention to him because for a long time he had mystified and dazzled them with his magic. But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, both men and women.  Even Simon believed [Philip’s message of salvation]; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he watched the attesting signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed. Acts 8:9-13

Sabbath

No other day has ever been sanctified as the day of rest. The Sabbath Day begins at sundown on Friday and ends at sundown on Saturday. {Acts 17:2; Acts 18:4; Luke 4:16; Mark 2:27-28; Matthew 12:10-12; Hebrews 4:1-11}

Doing any kind of work on the Sabbath

A man was there whose hand was withered. And they asked Jesus “Is it lawful and permissible to heal on the Sabbath?”—they asked this so that they might accuse Him and bring charges into court. But He said to them, “What man is there among you who, if he has only one sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable then is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful and permissible to do good on the Sabbath.” Matthew 12:10-12

Jesus said, “I did one miraculous thing a few months ago, and you’re still standing around getting all upset, wondering what I’m up to. Moses prescribed circumcision—originally it came not from Moses but from his ancestors—and so you circumcise a man, dealing with one part of his body, even if it’s the Sabbath. You do this in order to preserve one item in the Law of Moses. So why are you upset with me because I made a man’s whole body well on the Sabbath? Don’t be nitpickers; use your head—and heart!—to discern what is right, to test what is authentically right.” John 7:21-24 (MSG)

Blasphemy

The Name of God is Blasphemed among the Gentiles because of the hypocrisy of the Pharisee’s and those who follow them, who claim to be so “holy” yet they continue to practice the same things as the pagan’s among them. Romans 1:28-2:24

For even though they knew God [as the Creator]; they did not honor Him as God or give thanks [for His wondrous creation]. On the contrary, they became worthless in their thinking [godless, with pointless reasoning’s, and silly speculations], and their foolish heart was darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God for an image [worthless idols] in the shape of mortal man and birds and four-footed animals and reptiles.

Blasphemy of Christ - Those who passed by were hurling abuse at Him and jeering at Him, wagging their heads [in scorn and ridicule], and they said [tauntingly], “You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself [from death]! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.” Matthew 27:39-40

Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy [every evil, abusive, injurious speaking, or indignity against sacred things] will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the [Holy] Spirit will not be forgiven {Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is denying all the work of the Holy Spirit. This leads ultimately to rejecting the deity of Christ}. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit [by attributing the miracles done by Me to Satan] will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. Matthew 12:31-32

Feast Days {Festivals ordained by God}

Jesus Christ, the apostles and New Testament Church celebrated the festivals “Holy Days” ordained by Father God!

Church’s which teach and celebrate Christmas, Halloween, New Year's, Valentine's Day, and Easter on Sunday morning are NOT honoring Yahweh. These observances are based in ancient mystery worship - not on the Bible.

They are teaching mere traditions of man and that's the problem. They are actually fulfilling what was also prophesied in Daniel 7:25; "He will speak words against the Most High [God] and wear down the saints of the Most High, and he will intend to change the times and the law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, [two] times, and half a time [three and one-half years]."

Nowhere in the New Testament have the Messiah or His disciples switched the days of worship. If you could talk to the Apostle Paul and tell him about the counterfeit days observed today, he would be stunned at the change. Similarly, millions of people today would be shocked if they only opened their Bibles and saw that the early New Testament Assembly kept the holy days of Leviticus 23.

People today are being taught that the Holy Days are Old Testament and are therefore obsolete. This erroneous doctrine is one reason millions assume they can't understand the Bible. Why were certain days okay for one group of people to observe and not for another, they wonder. The only difference in keeping the Holy Days in the New Testament times is a change in the sacrifice. Because Yahshua the Savior became the perfect sacrifice; mankind NO LONGER needed to sacrifice animals or any of the other many items required for sacrifice in the Old Testament.

Notice in 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 that Paul in the New Testament said to keep the feast. Originally the Holy Days of Leviticus 23 were not sacrificial days {Jeremiah 7:22-23}, but sacrifices were added because of man's transgression.

Peter tells us Yahshua was the perfect example we should follow, 1 Peter 2:21. In 1 Corinthians 11:1 Paul said he followed Yahshua's example and we should follow him. To follow an example is to do as the example did. Nowhere does the Bible record that the Messiah offered a sacrifice.

In Matthew 9:13 Yahshua Himself says, "Go and learn what this [Scripture] means: I desire compassion [for those in distress], and not [animal] sacrifice, for I did not come to call [to repentance] the [self-proclaimed] righteous [who see no need to change], but sinners [those who recognize their sin and actively seek forgiveness].” The writer of Hebrews tells us how to offer sacrifices in New Testament times. In Hebrews 13:15 we read, "Through Him, therefore, let us at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name."

OBSERVING YAHWEH'S LAW IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

In Isaiah 66:22-23 Isaiah foretells that the Sabbath and holy days will be in force after the resurrection. “For just as the new heavens and the new earth which I make will remain and endure before Me,” declares the Lord, “So your offspring and your name will remain and endure.  “And it shall be that from New Moon to New Moon and from Sabbath to Sabbath, All mankind will come to bow down and worship before Me,” says the Lord.

Yahweh was looking down through history and had Isaiah record that His people will continue to worship and keep the Sabbaths even in the new age when the Kingdom is established on the earth.

1.                 WEEKLY SABBATH

Leviticus 23:3, Acts 13:42, Acts 15:21, Acts 16:13

So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath [and He has authority over it]. Mark 2:28

2.                  PASSOVER AND UNLEAVENED BREAD

Leviticus 23:5-6, Matthew 26:18, Acts 20:6, Luke 22:14-16

3.                  PENTECOST {OT - Feast of Weeks or Feast of Firstfruits}

Leviticus 23:15-17, Acts 2:1, 20:16, 1 Corinthians 16:8

4.                  FEAST OF TRUMPETS

Leviticus 23:24, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 1 Corinthians 15:52

5.                  DAY OF ATONEMENT

Leviticus 23:27, Acts 27:9, Hebrew 7:5, Hebrews 10:10

6.                  FEAST OF TABERNACLES

Leviticus 23:34, John 7, John 7:10, Acts 18:21

"And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And it shall be, that Whoever will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt goes not up and comes not, they shall have no rain; that shall be the plague wherewith Yahweh will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles."

7.                  LAST GREAT DAY

Leviticus 23:39, John 7:37-39

Whoever rejects Me and refuses to accept My teachings, has one who judges him; the very word that I spoke will judge and condemn him on the last day. John 12:48

And I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them [for this heaven and earth are passing away]. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the Book of Life; and the dead were judged according to what they had done as written in the books [that is, everything done while on earth]. And the sea gave up the dead, who were in it, and death and Hades (the realm of the dead) surrendered the dead who were in them; and they were judged and sentenced, every one according to their deeds. Revelation 20:11-13

Can you now see the value of keeping Yahweh's Holy Days? Many of Yahshua's miracles, teachings, His birth, death, resurrection, sending of the Holy Spirit, and other major biblical events occurred on holy days. Paul and all the apostles kept and worshiped on the Sabbath and Holy Days.

Christmas, Easter, New Year's, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Independence Day and SUNDAY mean NOTHING to Yahweh. Yahweh inspired Jeremiah to write. "Learn not the way of the heathen..." {Jeremiah 10:2}. These pagan counterfeits NEVER represented anything valuable and NEVER will. Mark 7:7-8 makes it abundantly clear that Yahweh has NOTHING to do with mankinds made up holidays. As a matter of fact they are abhorrent to Yahweh.

Yahweh NEVER said to celebrate His birth and the ONLY remembrance of Him He taught was the Eucharist {Communion or the Last Supper}. Concerning the Eucharist, Yahshua said, “Do this in remembrance of Me” in Luke 22:19. {1 Corinthians 1:23-26, Matthew 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-24, Luke 22:17-20}

Yahshua condemns vain worship. He quoted Isaiah 29:13 to the Pharisees in Matthew 15:8, chastising them for their traditions. In Matthew 15:8-9 Yahshua says, "This people draws nigh unto Me with their mouth, and honors Me with their lips: but have removed their heart far from Me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." All pagan observances are vain, empty worship made up by man. Yahweh has set aside His Holy Days which have great meaning for us to worship Him.

No matter how sincere a person is in offering his form of worship, it is not acceptable before Yahweh unless Yahweh sanctions it in His Word. He said in Hosea 4:6, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to Me, seeing you have forgotten the law of your Elohim, I will also forget your children."

Throughout the Bible when Yahweh refers to His Holy Days He calls them "My Holy Days, My Sabbaths" {Ezekiel 36:20-27}; but when He refers to man's set holy days or months (moons) (whether they are altered originals or substitutes) He says "your holy days," "your moons," etc.

In the 5th chapter of Amos, Israel went their own way (as they do today); but Yahweh says "seek Yahweh and live," {Amos 5:6}. For those who worship their own way, He says in Amos 5:21-23, "I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies. Though you offer Me burnt-offerings and meal-offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Take away from Me the noise of your songs; for I will not hear the melody of your viols." Isaiah 1:11-14 tells us we must keep these days with a pure heart to be acceptable to Yahweh.

Today we have a lot of good singers who sing praises in their own way, but Yahweh doesn't hear them. Gifted preachers preach in their own way on their own days, but Yahweh does not hear them. Those who worship Yahweh according to His way as explained in Leviticus 23, in His Name, are the people He hears.

He loves everyone, but accepts only those seeking Him to the best of their ability. We are in training now to learn of these special times so that we can be teachers in the Kingdom, Revelation 5:10. How can we qualify to be a king or priest if we do not learn what to do now in this life? The bride is to make herself ready, Revelation 19:7. How about you? Are you following the example of Yahshua and the example of His disciples? Are you showing your true love to Yahweh by worshiping Him the way He desires to be worshiped, by being obedient to His Word?

It may be hard at first to get RID of all the things you have held onto as TRADITIONS all these years. In the end you will be so much better without the weight of the chains from FALSE HOLIDAYS not ORDAINED by God.

As  you continue your journey to the knowledge of TRUTH, I pray you  receive all you can handle from the Holy Spirit.

More Biblical TRUTH about the Sabbath Day…

WHY keep the Sabbath day? What is the object of the Sabbath? Who made it? When was it made, and for whom? Which day is the true Sabbath? Many keep the first day of the week, or Sunday. By what Bible authority have they for this? Some keep the seventh day, or Saturday. What Scripture have they for that? Here are the facts about both days, as plainly stated in the Word of God:

60 Bible Facts on the Seventh day of the Week

1. After working the first six days of the week in creating this earth, God rested on the seventh day. Genesis 2:1-3.
2. This stamped that day as God's rest day, or Sabbath day, as Sabbath day means rest day. To illustrate: When a person is born on a certain day, that day thus becomes his birthday. So when God rested upon the seventh day, that day became His rest, or Sabbath, day.
3. Therefore the seventh day must always be God's Sabbath day. Can you change your birthday from the day on which you were born to one on which you were not born? No. Neither can you change God's rest day to a day on which He did not rest. Hence the seventh day is still God's Sabbath day.
4. The Creator blessed the seventh day. Genesis 2:3.
5. He sanctified the seventh day. Exodus 20:11.
6. He made it the Sabbath day in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:1-3.
7. It was made before the fall; hence it is not a type; for types were not introduced till after the fall.
8. Jesus says it was made for man, that is, for the race, as the word man is here unlimited; hence, for the Gentile as well as for the Jew. Mark 2:27.
9. Not only is the Sabbath made for man, but Jesus said that He was Lord of the Sabbath. Mark 2:28.
10. It is a memorial of creation. Exodus 20:11; 31:17. Every time we rest upon the seventh day, as God did at creation, we commemorate that grand event.
11. It was given to Adam, the head of the human race. Mark 2:27; Genesis 2:1-3.
12. It is not a Jewish institution, for it was made 2,300 years before ever there was a Jew.
13. The Bible never calls it the Jewish Sabbath, but always "the Sabbath of the Lord thy God." Men should be cautious how they stigmatize God's holy rest day.
14. Evident reference is made to the Sabbath and the seven-day week all through the patriarchal age. Genesis 2:1-3; 8:10,12; 29:27,28, etc.
15. It was a part of God's law before Sinai. Exodus 16:4;23-29.
16. Then God placed it in the heart of His moral law. Exodus 20:1-17. Why did He place it there if it was not like the other nine precepts, which all admit to be immutable?
17. The seventh-day Sabbath was commanded by the voice of the living God. Deuteronomy 4:12-1
18. Then He wrote the commandment with His own finger. Exodus 31:18.
19. He engraved it in the enduring stone, indicating its imperishable nature. Deuteronomy 5:22.
20. It was sacredly preserved in the ark in the holy of holies. Deuteronomy 10:1-5.
21. God forbade work upon the Sabbath, even in the most hurrying times. Exodus 34:21.
22. God destroyed the Israelites in the wilderness because they profaned the Sabbath. Ezekiel 20:12-13.
23. It is the sign of the true God, by which we are to know Him from the false gods. Ezekiel 20:20.
24. God promised that Jerusalem should stand forever if the Jews would keep the Sabbath. Jeremiah 17:24-2
25. He sent them into the Babylonish captivity for breaking it. Nehemiah 13:18.
26. He destroyed Jerusalem for its violation. Jeremiah 17:27.
27. God has pronounced a special blessing on all the Gentiles who will keep it. Isaiah 56:6-7.
28. This is in the prophecy which refers wholly to the Christian dispensation. See Isaiah 56.
29. God has promised to bless all who keep the Sabbath. Isaiah 56:2.
30. The Lord requires us to call it "honorable." Isaiah 58:13 Beware, you who take delight in calling it the "old Jewish Sabbath," "a yoke of bondage," etc.
31. After the holy Sabbath has been trodden down "many generations," it is to be restored in the last days. Isaiah 58:12,13.
32. All the holy prophets kept the seventh day.
33. When the Son of God came, He kept the seventh day all His life. Luke 4:16; John 15:10. Thus He followed His Father's example at creation. Shall we not be safe in following the example of both the Father and the Son?
34. The seventh day is the Lord's day. See Revelation 1:10; Mark 2:28; Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 20:10.
35. Jesus was Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28), that is, to love and protect it, as the husband is the lord of the wife, to love and cherish her. 1 Peter 3:6.
36. He vindicated the Sabbath as a merciful institution designed for man's good. Mark 2:23-28.
37. Instead of abolishing the Sabbath, He carefully taught how it should be observed. Matthew 12:1-13.
38. He taught His disciples that they should do nothing upon the Sabbath day but what was "lawful." Matthew 12:12.
39. He instructed His apostles that the Sabbath should be prayerfully regarded forty years after His resurrection. Matthew 24:20.
40. The pious women who had been with Jesus carefully kept the seventh day after His death. Luke 23:56.
41. Thirty years after Christ's resurrection, the Holy Spirit expressly calls it "the sabbath day." Acts 13:14.
42. Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, called it the "sabbath day" in A.D. 45. Acts 13:27. Did not Paul know? Or shall we believe modern teachers, who affirm that it ceased to be the Sabbath at the resurrection of Christ?
43. Luke, the inspired Christian historian, writing as late as A.D. 62, calls it the "sabbath day." Acts 13:44.
44. The Gentile converts called it the Sabbath. Acts 13:42.
45. In the great Christian council, A.D. 49, in the presence of the apostles and thousands of disciples, James calls it the "sabbath day." Acts 15:21.
46. It was customary to hold prayer meetings upon that day. Acts 16:13.
47. Paul read the Scriptures in public meetings on that day. Acts 17:2-3.
48. It was his custom to preach upon that day. Acts 17:2-3.

50. There was never any dispute between the Christians and the Jews about the Sabbath day. This is proof that the Christians still observed the same day that the Jews did.
51. In all their accusations against Paul, they never charged him with disregarding the Sabbath day. Why did they not, if he did not keep it?
52. But Paul himself expressly declared that he had kept the law. "Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended anything at all." Acts 25:8. How could this be true if he had not kept the Sabbath?
53. The Sabbath is mentioned in the New Testament fifty-nine times, and always with respect, bearing the same title it had in the Old Testament, "the sabbath day."
54. Not a word is said anywhere in the New Testament about the Sabbath's being abolished, done away, changed, or anything of the kind.
55. God has never given permission to any man to work upon it. Reader, by what authority do you use the seventh day for common labor?
56. No Christian of the New Testament, either before or after the resurrection, ever did ordinary work upon the seventh day. Find one case of the kind, and we will yield the question. Why should modern Christians do differently from Bible Christians?
57. There is no record that God has ever removed His blessing or sanctification from the seventh day?
58. As the Sabbath was kept in Eden before the fall, so it will be observed eternally in the new earth after the restitution. Isaiah 66:22-23.
59. The seventh-day Sabbath was an important part of the law of God, as it came from His own mouth, and was written by His own finger upon stone at Sinai. See Exodus 20. When Jesus began His work, He expressly declared that He had not come to destroy the law. "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets." Matthew 5:17.
60. Jesus severely condemned the Pharisees as hypocrites for pretending to love God, while at the same time they made void one of the Ten Commandments by their tradition. The keeping of Sunday is only a tradition of men.

40 Bible Facts on the First Day of the Week

1. The very first thing recorded in the Bible is work done on Sunday, the first day of the week. Genesis 1:1-5. This was done by the Creator Himself. If God made the earth on Sunday, can it be wicked for us to work on Sunday?
2. God commands men to work upon the first day of the week. Exodus 20:8-11. Is it wrong to obey God?
3. None of the patriarchs kept it.
4. None of the holy prophets ever kept it.
5. By the express command of God, His holy people used the first day of the week as a common working day for 4,000 years, at least.
6. God Himself calls it a "working" day. Ezekiel 46:1.
7. God did not rest upon it.
8. He never blessed it.
9. Christ did not rest upon it.
10. Jesus was a carpenter (Mark 6:3), and worked at His trade until He was thirty years old. He kept the Sabbath and worked six days in the week, as all admit. Hence, He did many a hard day's work on Sunday.
11. The apostles worked upon it during the same time.
12. The apostles never rested upon it.
13. Christ never blessed it.
14. It has never been blessed by any divine authority.
15. It has never been sanctified.
16. No law was ever given to enforce the keeping of it, hence it is no transgression to work upon it. "Where no law is, there is no transgression." Romans 4:15. See also 1 John 3:4.
17. The New Testament nowhere forbids work to be done on it.
18. No penalty is provided for its violation.
19. No blessing is promised for its observance.
20. No regulation is given as to how it ought to be observed. Would this be so if the Lord wished us to keep it?
21. It is never called the Christian Sabbath.
22. It is never called the Sabbath day at all.
23. It is never called the Lord's day.
24. It is never called even a rest day.
25. No sacred title whatever is applied to it. Then why should we call it holy?
26. It is simply called "first day of the week."
27. Jesus never mentioned it in any way, never took its name upon His lips, so far as the record shows.
28. The word Sunday never occurs in the Bible at all.
29. Neither God nor Christ nor inspired men ever said one word in favor of Sunday as a holy day.
30. The first day of the week is mentioned only eight times in all the New Testament. Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2, 9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1, 19; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2.
31. Six of these texts refer to the same first day of the week.

35. It was not their custom to meet on that day.
36. There was no requirement to break bread on that day.
37. We have an account of only one instance in which it was done. Acts 20:7.
38. That was done in the night-after midnight. Acts 20:7-11. Jesus celebrated it on Thursday evening (Luke 22), and the disciples sometimes did it every day. Acts 2:42-46.
39. The Bible nowhere says that the first day of the week commemorates the resurrection of Christ. This is a tradition of men, which contradicts the law of God. Matthew 15:1-9. Baptism commemorates the burial and resurrection of Jesus. Romans 6:3-5.
40. Finally, the New Testament is totally silent with regard to any change of the Sabbath day or any sacredness for the first day.

Here are one hundred plain Bible facts upon this question, showing conclusively that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord in both the Old and New Testament.

You may now be asking yourself, is all of this important, does it really matter? Well, let
me close with this verse. "Blessed are they that do His commandments that they may
have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."
           Revelation 22:14.
